Monster Hunter Wilds is already shaping up to be one of the biggest games of 2025. Capcom already took the series to new heights with 2018's Monster Hunter World, and if Wilds' open beta testing is anything to go by, 2025 might as well. Big year for developers. While fans were thrilled with the open beta, there were some series staples missing.

Monster Hunter Wilds is going to be the biggest game of 2025
Capcom's blockbuster has already attracted hundreds of thousands of people. And that's just the open beta…
The biggest of these is the HitStop feature, which freezes a frame or two when you land a big hit on a monster. It gives you a very satisfying feeling that really makes you feel like you are completely connected. This relatively minor feature was missed by fans, who were disappointed to find it missing. However, it looks like Hitstop will make it into the game at launch.
Hitstop will be more prevalent in Monster Hunter Wilds when it launches
We had a chance to sit down with Monster Hunter Wilds director Yuya Tokuda and producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and ask them how the transition from the open beta build to the final build of Monster Hunter Wilds will be and more importantly, if HitStop will be a part. At the beginning of the game.
“When we had the most recent OBT [open beta test]We got a lot of feedback and the development team is clearly aware of this,” said Tsujimoto. “Within OBT Emotions, there were a few things we felt needed to be adjusted for the final production version. There were some things that were planned to be implemented but obviously didn't make it to the OBT.”
He explained that while the dev team hoped to learn from the community through open beta testing, they expected feedback on certain parts of the game. While this was only a beta test, Capcom plans to showcase the final product as it will be at launch.
Probably hoping for a follow-up especially about Hitstop. Tokuda said that he has already discussed some of the changes coming to the game as a result of the open beta testing.
“We discussed with regional community managers and aligned our ideas,” he revealed. “Some of the things we want to address for the final product are heatstop. Many users felt it was weak compared to previous titles. For the final product version we plan to make heatstop much stronger, especially for finishing moves. Weapons.”
