What's in the Howling Marshes
Players working under stress on the Crest Garden quest will trigger a cutscene upon entering the Howling Marshes. This cutscene will advance the quest, allowing you to continue progressing through the main story.
Making progress on that quest isn't the only reason to visit the Howling Marshes, though, as it's home to a variety of crops, including sugarcane and various flowers. Selling harvestables is a great way to make money in the early game, and you'll want to clear the Howling Marshes before leaving the area.
Many harvestables can be processed at workstations, such as cooking stations and drying racks, and the products usually sell for more than the raw resources. Make sure to get and run new workstations as you unlock them, and get into the habit of processing materials before you sell them.
The Logan House is also in Howling Marsh, as is a crypt that at first seems inaccessible. Additionally, there's an area to the north that doesn't seem accessible during the first visit, and it's likely that later quests will center around entering it.
