If you're hoping for more in-multiverse Magic: The Gathering sets, you might be out of luck. Responding to a fan, Head MTG Designer Mark Rosewater has announced all planned In-Multiverse sets for 2026, suggesting the remaining sets will be Universes Beyond Crossovers.
If correct, this means that non-crossover sets will only return to Lorwyn and Arcavios in 2026. The rest of the sets have not been revealed, but Rosewater's comments suggest that they will all be crossovers.
MTG's 2026 looks set to be dominated by crossovers
Return to Lorwyn and Return to Arcavio may be our only in-multiverse sets
It all comes from Rosewater's Tumblr account. Here, a fan asked him about next year's MTG sets: “Will there be any Magic sets released in 2026, or is it all UB?”
In response Rosewater wrote, “They're all magic sets. Four of them (out of seven) are in-multiverse (Innistrad Remastered, Aetherdrift, Tarkir Dragonstorm, and Age of Eternities).”
He then edited the response to clarify that these were 2025 sets, adding: “We have announced 2026 in-multiverse sets, but not out-of-universe sets.”
It pretty much suggests that all of the In-Multiverse sets planned for next year have already been revealed, so you shouldn't expect anything else. Instead, the sets unveiled for 2026 will be multiple Universes Beyond runs, hence more crossovers with other franchises.
2025 will also give us universes beyond sets. In June, we're getting a Final Fantasy crossover, and at a later date, there will be a Spider-Man collaboration. There's also another crossover coming at some point, but we're still waiting to hear which series it will be with.

Magic: The Gathering Arena is a digital version of the massively popular MTG collectible card game, and sees players build decks and compete against other players online. Both Constructed Decks and Limited Play are supported, and Booster Packs can be earned through microtransactions or in-game currency as you play to build a library.
