Solo Leveling: Beyond the System new movie is coming in 2027 according to latest reports
Solo Leveling had humble beginnings in South Korea in 2016 as a Chugong novel. Through Chugong's captivating storytelling, the story was turned into a Manhwa story by Redis Studios in 2018, which would become the basis of the story's future projects. Finally, in 2024, Aniplex and A-1 Pictures accepted the challenge of bringing this story to life, and needless to say, it was one of the best releases of the year. Solo Leveling Season 1 in January 2024 and Solo Leveling Season 2 in January 2025 were both huge hits.
Solo Leveling Season 2 aired its final episode, episode 13, on March 29, 2025. The wait has been long, as we've all been waiting for a new project to be announced, and finally, more information has come out about what's next for the franchise. According to a new report that surfaced on July 3, 2026, Solo Leveling has a new movie project for a 2027 release, called “Solo Leveling: Beyond the System.”
This has yet to be officially confirmed by the studio, but it feels like a possibility as it coincides with a previous committee report published by A-1 Pictures in November 2025, in which the studio was apparently considering the film due to the success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. At the moment, information is very limited, but with Anime Expo 2026 starting today, new information may be officially announced soon. Solo Leveling has its own stage on July 4, 2026 between 10:30 AM and 11:20 AM PDT, located in the JW Marriott Diamond Ballroom.

Solo Leveling Season 3 gets a big boost in the new A-1 Pictures update
Solo Leveling Season 3 gets a promising update with a new A-1 picture report.
Solo Leveling's theatrical release will hit Japan in 2027 and could adapt the Ah Jin Guild and Double Dungeon arcs.
We still don't know much Single Level: Beyond the SystemBut what reports suggest, another project is promising. currently, Single Level: Beyond the System It is expected to be released in 2027, at least in Japan. Previously, a November committee report seemed to indicate that the studio wanted a movie in 2026, but now that the year is halfway through, that seems unlikely. 2027 seems like a more realistic date, and we can't wait for more information soon.
Information about the upcoming Solo Leveling movie is limited, but we do know that it is directed by Yoshihiro Kanno. It's possible that the story of 'Solo Leveling: Beyond the System' will be a new original, never-before-seen story, as is the case with the new 2026 movie of The Apothecary Diaries, but based on the name, it could be a theatrical release that adapts the fan-favorite arc.
The title's name, 'Beyond the System', seems to allude to the double dungeon arc of the manhwa. In the Double Dungeon arc, Sung Jinwoo was left without his system powers due to the Architect's involvement. Until more information is revealed, this arc seems like the most likely possibility, but we hope to see a trailer, or at least a key scene, along with an official announcement. The dual dungeon arc spans chapters 123 to 131 in the manhwa. However, if the Double Dungeon arc is adapted, it is highly likely that the Ah Jin Guild arc covering chapters 111 to 122 will also be adapted. We are incredibly excited for the official announcement of this report, and hopefully, solo leveling will grow even more in popularity with this release.
