KYIV: Ukraine's gold medalist boxer Oleksandr Khizniak gave a military salute to crowds celebrating his return to the war-torn country from the Paris Olympics. Khizniak, 29, greeted fans, friends and family as he stepped off the Special Olympic Express train at Kiev's central railway station. The player from Poltava is also a soldier of the border guard of Ukraine. He is the first gold medalist to win a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics to bring home the award.
