One of the best and simultaneously the scariest parts of Pokemon Champions' releases and future updates will reveal what kind of abilities and moves from the new Mega Evolutions. Pokemon Legends: ZA End to get. The good part of the process is that it creates hype when new megas become available after the first batch, as players are often excited to know what equipment will be in each mega evolution. The bad part is that Several Mega Evolutions are now added Pokemon Champions is Subpar abilities, such as the disappointing Mold Breaker on Mega Amboar.
Some mega evolutions in the Pokemon Legends: ZA Gained great new capabilities Pokemon ChampionsWith the prime example being Mega Meganium. The Gen 2 starter, which has historically been one of the worst starters of all time in competitive play, if not the worst, gets a new ability called Mega Soul that no other Pokemon has. This makes Mega Meganium act like it's always under the influence of dry/sunny weather for its moves, but it doesn't affect the actual weather or other Pokemon's moves. Another Pokemon with a unique new ability that generated a lot of hype when it was revealed is Mega Feraligator, but it lands between Amboar and Meganium in terms of utility and power.
Pokemon Legends: ZA's biggest loss is Pokemon Champions' biggest gain
Pokemon Legends: ZA and Pokemon Champions use the battle formula differently, which bodes well for the latter's upcoming release.
Pokemon Champions' Mega Feralligator is more frustrating than you might think
The best part of Mega Feraligator's new kit is its signature ability Dragonize, which turns normal-type moves into dragon-type moves and increases their power by 20%. On paper, this effect looks very exciting and powerful, as similar abilities have historically been amazing in Mega Evolutions. However, the excitement of watching can wear off quickly Mega Feraligat's move is within Pokemon Championsas well as its overall statistics.

Why You Shouldn't Use Mega Feraligatr on Pokemon Champions
As such, the problem is that the best moves to pair with Mega Feraligator's Dragonize are simply Facade and Double-Edge, but both have issues. The mask is really strong when it doubles its power, but in order to do so, Mega Feralligator must be affected by the status condition. You can achieve this yourself, perhaps using Will-O-Wisp to burn the Pokemon or poison it, but it's a waste of the Pokemon's turn to do so, and without guts, burning also lowers Feraligatr's attack. Another option is Double-Edge, but this allows Mega Feraligator to take recoil damage, which reduces its staying power. Neither option makes this Mega one of the best Pokemon Pokemon ChampionsBut looking at the rest of the stats, it gets worse.
Mega Feraligatr's attack is amazing, and one of the highest in the series, but its speed is very lacking. The main issue is that Mega Feraligat is neither fast enough to excel under Tailwind nor slow enough to fit the best trick room teams. Pokemon Champions. This seriously weakens this Pokemon's potential, as there are better options overall in each speed tier. So, you'll probably need to support with Sinistcha for some healing through Hospitality, all just to use Double-Edge for some extra Dragon damage.
Mega Feraligatr wants to be a powerful sweeper, but it lacks the speed and maneuverability to achieve much. If you use Dragon Dance on it, it still needs to survive the turn and then outspeed the following turn to deal more damage and have good speed levels accordingly. All these features make up Pokemon Legends: ZAMega Feralligator is a bit disappointing Pokemon ChampionsAnd while it's not the worst mega out there, it's certainly not among the best. Time will tell if better strategies are found for this, but for now, Mega Feralligator is barely decent.
