Saros's PlayStation Trophy references Claire Obscur: Campaign 33

It's been a while since we last had a marquee, high-budget PlayStation exclusive title. By our reckoning, it was Yotei's ghost from last October. However, that should change relatively soon, as Saros, the follow-up to Returnal from Housemark, is set for release on April 30.

This should pave the way for what should be an exciting 2026 for PlayStation fans, with Marvel's Wolverine, Marvel Token: Fighting Souls and Phantom Blade Zero all set to release within the year.

Not since the PlayStation controller with the infamous Second Son felt this fun to use.

For now, we focus our attention on Saros, ahead of its release, its trophy list has been shared online, and the biggest thing to point out is the huge Claire Obscur: Campaign 33 reference smack right in the middle.

As compiled on Reddit and Insider Gaming, there are 45 trophies for players to collect when the game launches, a step up from Returnal and its list of 38. Right now we have the trophy names and numbers, but no word on whether it's bronze, silver or gold. That should change within the next few days as the listings go fully live.

As far as the entire list is concerned, it's pretty much par for the course when it comes to trophy hunting, like completing every task, defeating bosses or using certain weapons or abilities.

However, one title that stuck is “Carcosan Cartographe” and it is awarded for “completing 33 expeditions through the World Dial”.

Gee, we wonder where they got that reference from. Of course it doesn't refer to last year's Game of the Year award winner. Still, it will be interesting to find out where that inspiration is coming from.

There are some other neat references packed into the list

While the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reference is perhaps the most notable of the list, the rest of the saros have some interesting easter eggs worth pointing out.

For example, “Bullet Paradise” is awarded for killing 1,995 regular enemies. Housemark was founded in 1995, so it is a very easy reference. Then, “Break the Cycle,” which is awarded after absorbing 2,021 projectiles with the shield, is a direct reference to Housemark's last major title, Returnal, which was released in 2021. This is also a reference to the year Sony acquired Housemark.

As a final note, it looks like Saros will have eight owners, so this is bound to be a meter game rather than a return.
