Can be obtained by defeating Tarandus the Ashen in the Ashen Warrior quest found under Faction Quests → Pailune → Odeck Tribe → Executioner of Justice → Ashen Warrior.

Ashen's plate helmet

Can be purchased from the Back Alley Shop just south of Odek, located in the northwest corner of the map, after you defeat Tarandus the Ashen.

Ashen's leather boots

Can be obtained by completing the Life Challenge: Cave Exploration Log (gain 100 Cave Knowledge).

Ashen's plate gloves

Obtained by completing Goyen's Advice Training Challenge: On a Storm of Beasts (hanging onto a bear for more than 10 seconds).

Ashen's leather cloak

Can be obtained by completing the Life Challenge: Small Citizens of the Grasslands (obtain all insect and arthropod knowledge).

Ashen's Plate Armor is a reward for defeating the Tarandus Ashen boss Crimson Desert. This boss fight is part of an Odeck Tribe faction quest that can be found under Faction Quests → Pailune → Odeck Tribe → Executor of Justice → Ashen Warrior.

Once you have completed enough Faction Quest missions in Pailune the Odeck Tribe class will automatically appear in your journal along with the Executor of the Justice Quest. The first searches in this category will be The Black Bears and Red Smoke. Once that's done, the Ashen Warrior quest will appear in the quest log, confronting you and Defeat Tarandus Ashen.

The Sealed Abyss Artifact that triggers this challenge is found on the altar inside Odek north of the Odek Floodgates building (the large bridge over the river).

To complete this challenge, you must first unlock the Back Hang ability by upgrading the Grappling skill to level 4 (any character). Once you've done that, look for the bear. Right next to the Abyss Nexus is one extending northwest of the Sanctum of Penitence in Southeast Hernand.
