6 computer

A tech-savvy, quick-thinking combiner

  • Affiliation: Autobots
  • First appearance: Transformers G1 – Grimlock's new brain

The Technobots successfully brought intelligence to the Autobots with this high-tech, intelligent warrior. Computron works as a fusion of Afterburner, Lightspeed, Nosecone, Scattershot, and Strafe.

A brilliant thinker and analytical combiner, Computron is a master of quickly putting together effective battle strategies. His wisdom has come through time and time again for the Autobots, who are often at odds in their long-running war with the merciless Decepticons. Although this Combiner is far from the most physically imposing or dangerous one on offer, his tactical genius and technological advancements make him a very useful ally for the heroic Autobots.

5 Bruticus

A deadly, battle-hardened villain

  • Affiliation: Decepticons
  • First Appearance: Transformers G1 – Starscream's Brigade

This aptly-named Combiner is a ruthless killing machine built specifically for high-octane warfare. Bruticus is a fusion of five Combaticons: Blast Off, Brawl, Onslaught, Swindle, and Vortex.

Surprisingly, this battle-hungry combiner relies on heavy-duty firepower in combat. Repeatedly overpowering enemies with his sheer offense, Bruticus is a powerhouse that has repeatedly caused trouble and destruction for the Autobots. Despite his power, Bruticus did not survive the years without failure. Most terrifyingly, he was the first Decepticon to fall victim to the infamous Hate Plague. While lacking a lot of finesse compared to some of the more aesthetically pleasing combiners out there, Bruticus' raw power and aggression make him a formidable threat.

4 Menesar

A natural, rebellious threat.

  • Affiliation: Decepticons
  • First Appearance: Transformers G1 – Key to Vector Sigma Part 2

The Transformers series has had several TV series over the years. How do they stack up against each other?

What makes the heavily armed Menace especially dangerous is that he is prone to extreme mood swings and ranged fits. The Stunticons are notoriously rebellious, with even Megatron often struggling to keep them under control. Needless to say, their bad behavior only escalates when they fuse. Between his devastating offense and his mercurial rage, this giant combiner is an extremely dangerous, powerful force.

3 superian

A heroic, high-flying combine.

  • Affiliation: Autobots
  • First Appearance: The Key to Vector Sigma, Part 2

Not surprisingly, this powerful aerialbots combiner is a candidate for the pinnacle of airborne combat. Transformer suffrage Superion is a fusion of five aerialbots: Air Raid, Fireflight, Silverbot, Skydive, and Slingshot.

Superion has repeatedly come in handy for the Autobots as their own weapon of mass destruction in battle. While not as earth-shatteringly powerful as the likes of Devastator, Superion still manages to get the job done thanks to its superior mobility and technical prowess in combat. Predicted to arrive by Optimus Prime before the Aerialbots realized they could fuse, Superion has been working intermittently for the Autobots during the war.

2 Default

A wicked combiner with a distinctive design.

  • Affiliation: Decepticons
  • First appearance: Transformers G1 – Five Faces of Darkness, Part 5

Fierce Predaking is the latest addition to Dangerous Combiners. This beast comes together through the fusion of five Predacons: Divebomb, Headstrong, Rampage, Razorclaw and Tantrum.

Predeking stands out from most combiners because of its high intelligence. While many Combiners often suffer psychological damage from the fusion of the five minds, the Predacons' shared instincts and interests allow them to merge more cohesively as a dangerous new entity in the process. With animalistic fury, the Predaking has proven to be a relentless beast for the Autobots. With wings, claws, and a dragon-like ensemble, this imaginative combiner has set itself apart as one of the franchise's most menacing and visually distinctive efforts.

1 destructive

A near-invincible powerhouse created by the Constructicons

  • Affiliation: Decepticons
  • First appearance: Transformers G1 – Heavy Metal War

Made up of the aptly named Constructicons, the giant original is a classic figure. Transformer legend. The Devastator is brought down by the combined powers of six Construction Decepticons: Bonecrusher, Hook, Long Hole, Mixmaster, Scavenger and Scrapper.

The Destroyer's monumental size and massive power make him a force of destruction. As for the Autobots, this threat has proven nearly invincible in the past, relentlessly running through full squads of the noble Transformer collective with excruciating ease. The clever way the Constructicons fuse together to build this fearsome juggernaut provided the blueprint that all the Combiners followed, making him an important character in the early days of the original animated series.
