The best non-calendar events in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a game that seems to have endless mysteries and surprises, making it one of the most relaxing games out there. Even if you've put in hundreds of hours, you might miss something that gives you a unique item or piece of clothing. Stumbling upon them can be exciting, but sometimes they can be difficult to spot without prior knowledge.

8 St. Patrick's Day

Stardew Valley's Pot Of Gold St. Patrick's Day event side-by-side shots.

Every year on the 17th of spring, you can celebrate St. Patrick's Day. In the Cindersop Forest near Hat Mouse's shop, you can find a lovely pot of gold at the end of a beautiful rainbow. If you click it, you will get a leprechaun hat.

It was added to the game in 1.6, and is the only way you can get the leprechaun hat. On top of that, you will also get some gold from the event.

7 Merry Christmas

Milk and cookies

The Christmas gift event is one that requires something from you to trigger. On the 24th day of winter, you put cookies and milk on the table for Santa to find. On the 25th, you will pick up two gifts for each item.

The gift will usually be a mystery box, which you can open with Clint. It's a very cute way to experience Christmas within the game, especially if you're someone who doesn't always get presents.

6 Winter Train

Presents in abundance

Another great winter event is what some call the “Winter Train” or “Christmas Train”. This train is red in color and filled with colorful gifts.

Endless reactions

Stardew Valley Introduction Page Alien Door and Junimos.

One of the lesser known events in Stardew Valley occurs at the loading screen. If you interact with the Stardew Valley wooden board surrounded by leaves and clouds, you can find some great secrets.

There are many things you can do, but two of them are the most popular. If you click on the letter E ten times, a door will open and an alien will appear. Clicking on the leaves ten times will cause three Junimos to appear and bounce around.

4 Trash Bear

cleaning up

Trash Bear is a coined name for a bear seen near a sewer entrance in a cindersap forest. This quest line is not available on a non-rainy day until year 3. When it rains, the bear hides (probably in the woods, but we don't know for sure).

Trash Bear will give you four quests, each asking for different items. This can be fish, cooked items, or bait items. If you complete these four quests, the trash near the water will be cleaned up, the trash will be removed from Pam's yard, and Alex's dog will get a new home.

3 Junimo Plus

Green goodness

Junimo is a secret piece of plush furniture that can be found by clicking on the bush above the playground near the community center. You can only get the Junimo plush after finding Secret Note #13, and it's only available on the 28th of each season.

There are different introduction screens that you can view depending on the date or event. The introduction screen appears at the end of the day, after 2:00 AM, and shows all the money you have earned.

On the 24th day of winter, you can see Santa Claus and his reindeer roaming the sky. On the 27th, if there is no water, you have a small chance of seeing a UFO cross the top of the screen. In the same situation, you can see the full moon on the side of the screen. You can press it eleven times, and the Man in the Moon will appear.

1 Eliot's Piano

Music to my ears

Elliot's 2-heart event at his home in Stardew Valley.

Eliot's piano is an event that can happen at any time, but it would be incredibly rare to discover it on your own. To unlock it, you need to enter Elliot's house and play the first eight notes of the Stardew Valley Overture.

The way to unlock it is to play the notes in the following order: 2432 3421. If you succeed in this, Elliot will return to you with a happy heart. It's a small event, but an incredibly sweet one, and very unknown.
