However, after Sonic refuses to take revenge on Shadow, the Black Hedgehog begins to wonder if his path is righteous and what his lost friend Maria wanted. Seeing the dead star still shining helps him realize that it is in his heart and with him there, Gerald can't take revenge that Robotnik encouraged him. It was one of the best moments of all Sonic movies, and this truly beautiful quote serves as the icing on the cake.
