The best solo teams to run in Pokemon Champions

Pokemon Champions Focused on both single combat and dual combat, bringing together the best of all combat options in a single game will showcase what you can do. By climbing the ranks with ranked battles, you'll quickly see how many Pokemon are falling into the meta state, and how many are part of some of the best teams out there.

When it comes to solo battles, you don't have to rely too much on building Pokemon specifically for support, and you can focus solely on strategies that don't revolve around AoE damage or other dual battle options. Here are some great single-battle teams to try your hand at.

Hippodonian ground sweep

Hippowdon's most popular moves in Pokemon Champions.

The hippopotamus

Garchomp

Meowscarada

Arcaludone

Hydrogen

Primerina

In single battles, Hippowdon is a strong defensive Pokemon that can last. Singles battles will see more tactical switching than doubles battles, and Hippowdon's Yawn, Stealth Rock, and Slack Off options will pressure your opponent and keep it in the game. Garchomp's rough skin ability makes it a threat here, and it has a diverse movepool, great speed, and enough power to take out any opponent who switches after a setup from Hippowdon.

Meowscarada with Protean gains STAB (same type attack bonus) to all of its moves, and it can clean up quickly with its speed and guaranteed critical hits. Archaludon has great coverage with few weaknesses, and Hydreigon covers the Fairy-type Pokemon you're bound to see in swaps. Primarina is a large Pokemon that is also strong, and pairing it with Hippowdon will make it difficult for your opponent.

Tweaked Hippodun sweep

Meowscarada's most popular moves in Pokemon Champions.

The hippopotamus

Garchomp

Meowscarada

Charizard

Caesar

Primerina

It runs the same team as the one above, except you substitute in Charizard and Mega Scizor. Mega Scizor with Swords Dance will deal massive damage. A quick Saw and Bullet Punch followed by a U-Turn and Swords Dance for Weakness will destroy any pesky Fairy-type Pokemon on the opponent's team.

Charizard is your special attack fire-type specialist, with moves that both set up and destroy the opponent. This is a great swap-in during single combat, and Charizard, if you use its Mega Evolution, will give you a free weather change with moves that can take advantage of it.

Float and Venusaur tanks

Venusaur

float

Garchomp

Kingambit

Rotom

Espathra

Depending on which Pokemon you decide to use in your Mega Evolution, Venasaur and Float both have HP-draining moves that can hit hard when boosted by a Baton Pass from Espathra. Both Pokemon have good speed, defense, and attack, meaning a baton pass will destroy anything in their path. This is after Esphatra has a calm mind, so they will get every bonus from Espathra.

With Swords Dance, Soccer Punch, Kingambit continues to be a threat, and can counter many of the meta options you find in the meta. Its Supreme Overlord ability will give it a cool ten percent ATK and SPA boost, and with an already high base attack stat, you can wipe out any remaining Pokemon.

Threat setup

Glimmora's most popular moves in Pokemon Champions.

Lopunni

Primerina

Glimora

Garchomp

Corviknight

Delphos

Glimmora sets up all the threats your opponent will have to deal with when switched on. A great lead-in, this bulk ensures that you can get a decent setup of threats, and if you run with a blast, it will be a strong exit. Garchomp is here for coverage and its attacks, while Corviknight is there as your physical wall, giving your opponent a hard time to try and force themselves through it. It can deal with Fairy-type Pokemon with Iron Head, and with U-Turn, you can easily swap. Roost allows it to heal and set up a quick swap for you.

Mega Lopunny not only has access to several physical attack options that give you great coverage, but it's strong and fast, and its Scrappy ability allows you to hit Ghost-type Pokemon. Primerina must be included here, and Delfox is here to be extremely strong and fast, and to clean up any leftovers. With STAB from both Psychic and Fire-type moves, you can safely clean up any leftovers.

Second possibility

Gengar's move data in Pokemon Champions.

Gengar

Gyarados

Garchomp

Rotom

Meowscarada

Mimikyu

Gengar excels in solo battles, as it makes the most use of Perish Song, getting a free KO on any problem Pokemon you might encounter. Gyarados has a high ATK stat, and if you Mega Evolve it and get out of Sword Dance, you'll almost always be able to OHKO your opponent.

Mimikyu is another beast in solo battles, allowing you to get a free Swords Dance with the ability to tank any first hit. In double battles, you'll have a chance for the opponent to hit twice, ruining your chance to take advantage of its ability. In singles, you've got that free move. Rotom is another tank that also has Levitate. Meowscarada with Protean can change his typing again to fit the situation, and also get a big critical hit. Gengar that completely removes Pokemon, Mimikyu with a free turn, and Meoscarada make this a great second chance team when changing typing.
