The best teammates for Zhonngli in the Genshin effect

Genshin Impact has a wide roster of characters, each with their own specializations and weaknesses. Whether a character excels at any given archetype is always up for debate, but you'll rarely find anyone arguing that Zhongli's shield is the strongest in the Genshin effect.

However, where other shielders like Layla can provide an elemental application, Zhongli's entire kit revolves around a strong shield and a little RES Shred. There are many things that make Zhongli the king of shields, but it's important to know which teams can make full use of Zhongli's defensive utilities!

As such, Neuvillette needs a better way to counter the obstacle. Zhongli isn't the only option with Thoma, Layla and the other shielders still in contention, but despite Zhongli's shield being the strongest and his Elemental RES buffing Neuvillette despite Zhongli's HP-scaling, it makes Zhongli a wonderful, if not necessary, teammate for him.
