Tomb Raider Fans Can't Believe How Bad The Remastered Collector's Edition Lara Croft Figure Looks

The Tomb Raider franchise has been dormant for a long time. Aside from an Amazon show starring Sophie Turner, which is always in the works, it doesn't look like we're going to see Lara Croft any time soon. Perhaps that's why many fans wanted to get their hands on the limited run 1-3 remastered collector's edition.

This massive physical edition gets you steelbooks for each of the first three games, replicas of Lara's iconic pistols, a soundtrack collection, a map book, some posters and trading cards, and statues of Lara's classic polygonal avatars from the first three games. Unfortunately, those statistics seem pretty damning.

The Tomb Raider Remastered Collector's Edition sculpts look terrific

It's clear what the creator was going for – a throwback to when Lara was polygonal like the first three games. Unfortunately, it seems that look doesn't translate well into action figure form. The facial features look so weird, some fans on Twitter have referred to them as 'Temu Rider' (thanks Video Gamer). As others called the limited run, the figures don't look like promotional material.

It's not just the off-putting faces that are an issue, the figures themselves don't seem well made. Fans point out that the joints look extremely flimsy and feature some terrible finishing. What should be the correct stats for Lara's in-game avatar look like some horrible versions of the beloved character.

A zoomed-in image of one figure's leg shows a joint that can open almost instantly. Also, the figures look like they are made of paper mache.

Those who bought the collector's edition not only had to spend $199, but had to wait more than a year before receiving it. Imagine the shock when they realize they spent their money and waited so long to be greeted by this cursed version of Lara. As the bundles have already been shipped, it doesn't seem like anything can be done about it now. Had the final version of the statues been revealed earlier, perhaps the creators would have gone back to the drawing board.
