Fans who enjoy the Demon Slayer anime will want to know what Ufotable does after the anime ends. As one of the most notable studios in the world, it would be strange not to announce a replacement for Ufotable. However, there is a good chance that the studio has already chosen a successor for the Demon Slayer, and that is the Genshin Effect.
Many people have forgotten about UFOtable's announcement about the Genshin effect. However, the statement came out in 2022, and there has been complete silence on the matter, leading some to question whether the studio intends to work on a Genshin Impact anime. Fans wouldn't be wrong to question UFOtable as there has been no update from the studio. However, there's a chance that ufotable has gone quiet on the matter because it just wants to focus on Demon Slayer, and one can't blame the studio for that.
But it seems that Ufotable is waiting to wrap up the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie trilogy before moving on to any other series. Ufotable has set incredibly high standards with the Demon Slayer anime adaptation, and it doesn't want anything to tarnish its reputation. So, it's natural to wait and finish this project at hand before starting another.
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie 2 & 3 Release Dates
ufotable released the first Infinity Castle movie earlier this year, and it shattered all kinds of records. It became the highest-grossing film in Japanese history, and even surpassed the likes of Superman at the worldwide box office. The reception to the movie proves that anime is even more mainstream. Even non-anime fans were interested in watching Demon Slayer because of the incredible animation quality. Maintaining such high standards is only possible if sufficient time is given to the staff.
Hence, uhotable needs to ensure that it does not force the employees to work overtime and that they are given enough time to produce another stellar movie. Based on available details, each film takes more than two years to produce. So, if the studio starts work in 2025, then the next movie will be released sometime in 2027. There is a chance that some of the staff were hired for the second movie, while many worked on the first. If that's the case, the second movie won't take as long as the first. If the studio manages to push out the second movie in 2027, the third and final movie could premiere in 2029, which would match the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trilogy's estimate to end before 2030.
After the trilogy ends, Ufotable can begin work on the anime's fifth season. Many fans believe that the studio will not do such a thing, but it has happened in the past. Besides, it's always good to have an option. The fifth season of Demon Slayer will not take place immediately after the trilogy. It will take a year or two for Ufotable to apply some final touches to the television series before releasing it.
If fans don't want to wait that long, they can start reading the manga, which ended a while ago. Since the manga is source material, fans don't have to worry about the studio adding some extra details. But if the wait doesn't bother them then it's better to wait for the second and third movie.
