There are four Magic: The Gathering Still set to arrive in 2026, and we just got a major news drop for the next three. Wizards of the Coast has locked down the release dates for the next three sets and also dropped a few more teases, including card previews, during MagicCon Vegas.
So, we now know exactly when we'll get our hands on Marvel Super Heroes, The Hobbit, and the much-anticipated Reality Fracture, with each set getting a prerelease a week earlier, locking in its original planned date.
Release dates confirmed for three massive MTG sets
Right, on to the finer details. Marvel Super Heroes has confirmed a release date of Friday, June 26, 2026. The prerelease will be a week earlier on June 19.
As for The Hobbit, it's locked in for a release date of Friday, August 14, 2026, with pre-release coming a week earlier on August 7.
Finally, the big in-universe set, Reality Fractures, has locked in a release date of Friday, October 2, 2026, with a pre-release on September 25.
We have not yet confirmed MTG Arena launch dates for these sets; However, it usually goes live on the Tuesday between the pre-release and the full release date, so keep that in mind.
What else did we learn at MagicCon Vegas?
We got card previews for each of these three sets, the most revealed for The Hobbit. It's to be expected that we already have a prologue preview window for the Marvel superhero, and Reality Fracture is a bit far from starting to show much more, especially since fans are still fascinated by the mysteries of Strixhaven.
We also got the full product lineups for each set, and the only real surprise from this news was the lack of a Commander deck from the Hobbit set. Instead, a new co-op experience will launch in 2027 and also uses the Hobbit license.
What about Star Trek?
It was great to get all this exciting news for the next three MTG sets, but it leaves us wondering why we haven't heard anything about Star Trek due to the final set in 2026.
This Universes Beyond set has a tentative release date of November 13, but beyond a few pieces of artwork on a placeholder page, we know very little about it.
Fear not, Trekkies, because this is likely just a case of Wizards of the Coast keeping some reveals in their pockets for future MagicCon events, and Star Trek will still get its own dedicated preview window and reveal video when the time is right.
