Hunter X Hunter's latest hiatus left fans in shock
HxH 410 is the final chapter
As fans have heard by now, Hunter x Hunter Its latest hiatus has begun. It was the last chapter fans got before the hiatus HxH Chapter 410, which dropped last Sunday, December 8th. However, a hiatus was announced a few days ago.
Chapter 410 of Hunter x Hunter was incredible and left fans on a huge cliffhanger. Fans got to see the outcome of the card game between Morena and Borksen, and at the same time, learn more about Morena's powerful abilities. The biggest development in that chapter, however, relates to the martial law that was declared. Readers learn that most of the princes have been captured by Benjamin, waiting to use them as hostages as he tries to win this succession war and appoint his own child as the next king. The reveal of Benjamin having a baby was huge, but many fans had theories about it.
The whereabouts of many important characters in this war are unknown, such as Kurapika, Chrollo, Hisoka, Tseridnich, Hulkenberg, and so on. Readers definitely can't wait to see what unfolds when the manga returns with chapter 411.
Ten hours after the onset of coma!! Death comes two hours later. I have about nine and a half hours to spare… I have to get rid of the princes by then!! — Prince Benjamin
Overall, however, the Hunter x Hunter manga didn't go back that long. In fact, fans had access to 10 Hunter x Hunter chapters before the manga went back on hiatus, and these chapters spanned from 401 to 410. The manga only ran for about 3 months in Shonen Jump. It returned in October 2024, and now in December 2024, it is going back into a hiatus, and probably won't return before 2025 hits.
Togashi's previous hiatus for Hunter x Hunter
Hunter x Hunter goes through several intervals
As a fan of Hunter x Hunter As you know, the series often goes on hiatus. The series has been on hiatus longer than Shōnen Jump was serialized.
To be specific, Hunter x Hunter began experiencing a hiatus around 2006 and 2007 during the Chimera Ant arc, and since then, the series has never really returned consistently. This is also when the series started to slow down a lot. Although the arc started in 2003, the Chimera Ant arc will only end in 2011. Now, the current arc in the manga, the Succession War arc, fans know started in 2012. Even now, it is still going on. A decade later, mostly due to a very long hiatus.
The hiatuses during this Succession War arc were the longest in HxH history, with one of them lasting 4 years, lasting between November 2018 and returning only to October 2022.
As long as I am officially anointed as heir, even if I die… I can pass the throne to my child!! Section 1 of Emergency Law!! “To protect the monarchy in crisis” will apply!!! — Prince Benjamin
The manga became effective with the release before the hiatus it's currently running HxH 410, after the previous one launched in early 2023 HxH He returned after a gap of 4 years. When the manga returned in 2022, it also aired the same 10 chapters as the current batch before going back for a 2 full year hiatus. Sure, it was a long hiatus, but nowhere near the longest in HxH history.

Hunter X Hunter Chapter 410: Interval Begins
HxH releases its final chapter before going on hiatus. Togashi drops the fan on a large rock.
As far as reason HxH There are many hiatuses, this is mainly due to the health of the manga's Yoshihiro Togashi. Togashi suffers from chronic back pain, and other health problems in general. The fate of HxH was so uncertain that the author even released his least favorite ending of the series to fans, just in case, depending on what happens with the manga, along with some other endings he might reveal in the future.
When will the manga return?
Readers don't know when the manga will return, but it looks good
Many fans may now be worried about when the series will return to Shonen Jump, specifically HxH is more than familiar for a very long interval. The previous gap was 2 years long, but hopefully, this will be much shorter.
This is mainly because Togashi is currently working on the series. In fact, Togashi plans to work on HxH up to chapter 430 for the time being, and HxH chapters like 411 and beyond are probably completely finished.
At the end of chapter 410 HxHThe message was left that the next batch of chapters would be announced soon instead of what fans got 2 years ago, which was a message along the lines of the series stopping publication in the next issue of Shonen Jump. These two messages are quite different, even though both announce an interval. What readers get this time is very promising.
Togashi's health is also improving, which is a surprising sign for fans. He recently revealed on his X account that he underwent surgery, and fans can only pray for his recovery and hope that he can make this series strong.
I just finished a rough draft of 2 chapters. I had surgery. I was under local anesthesia, and the doctor was explaining and showing me what was happening. It was a valuable experience and I learned a lot. I would like to thank the doctors. – Togashi
With all this in mind, HxH is unlikely to go on another 2-year hiatus like before, and fans should expect the series to return in early 2025 as Togashi continues to work hard on HxH. That said, nothing is confirmed right now, and fans will have to wait for any official comment on the matter.
Hunter x Hunter, despite the hiatus, is still available to read and access on Viz and MangaPlus. A release date for Hunter x Hunter 411 has not yet been revealed, but hopefully in the coming months as Togashi continues his hard work on the series.
