The town of Lumios doesn't seem to be as hospitable to ice types as it is to other Pokemon types, as there are only 14 unique species to be found.

Down from 24 ice-type mons Pokemon X and Y, Legends: ZA Cuts some of the series' best options for players to choose from. Although the Kalos region has iconic frozen locations such as Dendemille City, Frost Cavern, and Snowbelle City, Weavile, Lapras, and Mamoswine all miss access to Lumiose City. Geographically, these areas must be far enough away from the city of Lumios to make it difficult for some species to survive in an urban environment. As a result, players looking to add an ice-type to their team should consider Froslass, Glalie, and Abomasnow as their top choices.

Mega Froslass is the clear star of the show for Ice-Types in Pokemon Legends: ZAThis is the first appearance of the latest game Mega. It also introduces STAB as a fast special attacker with a dual Ghost/Ice type for a wider range of attack coverage.

Its counterpart, Mega Glali splits its offensive stats between special and physical attacks, giving Mega Froslas an edge to players looking to optimize their damage output and lean on special over physical. Mega Froslas is also a good match for Mega Abomasno as it suffers from the same problem as Mega Glali in splitting offensive stats between physical and special, but it also has a drastically reduced speed stat and many weaknesses. Despite having limited overall ice-types in its Pokédex, Mega Froslass is a reason to be excited for ice-type fans. Legends: ZA.
