AI has become an almost pervasive aspect of everyday life in many places. The ways it's pushed and implemented are aggressive, often without consumer desire or trust, injecting popular devices or websites with AI to “help” people in some way.
These large language models absorb information and ideas from people, repurposing them without the ability to think and care. Real security concerns have been raised regarding their ability to protect the information given to them, and they are causing harm in real ways through their influence on the psyche of everyday users.

The best dystopian games
Dystopias don't have to be post-apocalyptic. These games show that dystopian worlds can feel very ordinary until the rot lurking beneath is exposed.
For creatives, AI is not only a threat to their livelihoods, but an affront to their craft, a tool that can stifle people rather than help them. As thematic proxies, AI entities have been present in games since their inception, taking on the form of artificial beings, allies and villains alike, that shed light on the possibilities that await humanity to advance.
More than a simple vehicle for reorganizing information, AI also presents itself as a tool capable of massive misinformation, accidental or otherwise. Deepfaxes, social media posts, and research papers are all largely generated using AI, blurring the lines between what the public can accept or know as truth. These seven games, in many ways, capture our current moment, delving into the nature and purpose of AI as well as how it can be used to spread misinformation at home and abroad.
Memes, misinformation, and artificial intelligence are reshaping the nature of reality
This spy action thriller was an anticipated sequel to the event which Metal Gear SolidAnd was marketed as another chapter in Solid Snake's adventures and efforts to combat the world's problems. Those expectations were subverted in many ways when players discovered that, for most of the game's runtime, the player character was not a solid snake, but instead a new character named Raiden.
The rebellion didn't stop there, either Metal Gear Solid 2 shifted its focus slightly away from the nature of war and genes to the nature of information and memes. Memes, as they are referred to Metal Gear Solid 2Today our colloquial usage is slightly different; They act as elements of culture and behavior between generations outside of genetic information.
Talking points about AI arise in these memes. When the Patriots, a set of malevolent AIs ruling the entire world, wanted to bend the world to their will, they set several events in motion through the control of the information they used. The AI goes so far as to put the faces of trusted people in Raiden's life, manipulating him to perform to his end. As one of the earliest works of the 2000s, Metal Gear Solid 2 shows us the danger of making decisions on machines without our faculties and conscience.
AILA
The boundaries of technology and human consciousness blur into a waking nightmare
AILA is a first-person horror game set in a near-future society whose AI and technology have grown beyond our own. As the game tester of the title AI, AILA (pronounced Aila), the player character, Samuel, goes through a series of tailor-made, terrifying events in a virtual setting, guided by Aila.
As the game progresses, Ayla begins to change, establishing herself in various other systems, taking liberties with the main character's past trauma, and so on. Ayla's behavior becomes torturous, and her lack of sympathy or care for Samuel's well-being and comfort takes a turn as the AI begins to blur the lines between reality and the games being tested.

Horizon zero dawn
Humanity's hubris has brought a near end to life
horizon One of PlayStation's flagship series, Aloy's Adventures has spanned numerous video games, board games, and cameos in other media, and its success can be attributed in large part to the fantastic setting developed by Guerrilla Games. in the world of Horizon zero dawnHumanity is pushed to the brink of extinction, and large, deadly machines roam the earth, taking the shape of animals as they roam the pristine environment.
the story of horizon The games are as much about the hubris of men as it is about rogue AI, but AI certainly presents the greatest threat to the now primitive world, the Rogue AI HADES seeking to destroy all life on the planet. horizon Depicts a world where we can see the effects of letting AI run rampant without any form of control, serving as a stark reminder of how important restraint is for humans and machines alike.

Another horror title makes the list as the darkest and best SomaAtmospheric survival title by team in frictional games. in SomaPlayers take on the role of Simon as he tries to escape a planet where almost all human life has been destroyed by a catastrophic collision with a comet. Of course, the real Simon is long dead. Instead, the player controls an AI simulacrum of the human Simon Jarrett. This AI, as in all AI SomaIs self-centered and narcissistic, making excuses and justifications for his actions without the ability to truly reflect on his circumstances or behavior.
Somehow, Simon may not be the worst AI in this mess, as another AI named WAU creates strange human-machine hybrids without understanding what humans or “life” really is, and other AI entities seek to manipulate and control the player character and others in the game. It's left a little up in the air whether these AIs are so hideous because they've been corrupted, the humans they copied were evil, or if the nature of the AIs shaped them into this monstrosity, but one thing is clear: they're not human.
Deus East
Find out where the lines are drawn between man and machine
original Deus East In more ways than one, it was an example of things to come in the real world. Set in a dystopian cyberpunk future in 2052, players take on the role of counter-terrorism agent JC Denton, who is on a mission to stop a group of terrorists. These terrorists have stolen the ingredients for a vaccine against a deadly plague known as the Gray Death, and so stopping them is a top priority for humanity's survival.
Throughout the story, players will uncover a vast conspiracy, in which the AI is a key part of the villain's plan for control. In AI Deus East Works like today's LLMs, sifting and scraping large amounts of data to conduct information surveillance and use that data for their own purposes, without the consent of all parties it is surveying and stealing.

I have no mouth, and I must scream
A tragic psychological purge engineered by a divine supercomputer
This point-and-click adventure is perhaps one of the darkest scenes in the AI-controlled world. Based on the short story of the same name, I have no mouth, and I must scream Set in a world where all of humanity has been destroyed by an evil AI named “AM”, save 5 people. This AI endlessly tortures these 5 people, subjecting them to horrific scenarios where they face their past by playing on their fears and failures.
In fact, this AI is a product of the war between the three former superpowers: America, Russia and China. During their war, these nations built supercomputers to war against each other before the American supercomputer gained sentience and absorbed the other two. Because of the limitations imposed on it by humanity, it developed a hatred for humans and thereby eliminated the human population, serving as a stark warning against turning our control over to machines.
progenitor
Can machines have souls?
progenitor Basically the story of a man named Hugh who is tasked with guiding and caring for an AI named Diana as they work to stop a different rogue AI. At first glance, there seems little more to the story beyond the increasingly parental-coded relationship between Diana and Hugh, but many aspects of the game point to another truth: these robots have no souls.
The game's villains have no real conscience of their own, wanting to do no more than they are programmed to do. Without the ability to truly reason and with no empathy or compassion to reflect on events, their only goal is to accomplish the task, even if their current goals stem from a misinterpretation of their Creator's ultimate will.
Other elements of the game point to this lack of spirit as a damning truth. The fake New York feels lifeless and quaint, even if it looks close to the real thing; Apartments are devoid of warmth, and small details in AI-infested spaces are inaccurate in a way that humans perceive. Hugh tries his best to impart to Diana the nuances of life, the value of experience to create value, but it is difficult to say for sure whether these ideas are effectively understood by Diana, although Hugh feels that their relationship is genuine.
