Power's horns grew significantly, and she was strong enough to send Denji flying through the roof with a single punch. On top of that, by changing into his full devil form, he can take on the form of a giant shark monster that can run incredibly fast with its tiny legs and crush opponents with its jaws. Aki Hayakawa – Special Division Hunter
A regular human who can keep up with all the devils, hybrids, and fiends
- Debut: Chapter 3 (Manga) Episode 2 (Anime)
- Voiced by: Shogo Sakata (Japanese) Regan Murdoch (English)
Aki Hayakawa is one of the most notable The Chainsaw Man characters, because he is a regular human and a public safety devil hunter living in a chaotic world full of devils, hybrids and fiends. He's obviously very agile and physically strong from the get-go, especially compared to his former colleagues in the Second Division, but he also makes several deals with the Devils that allow him to be with Rey and Typhoon Devil during the climax of the movie.
Aki's contract with Future Devil allows him to see glimpses of the near future so he can avoid their consequences, which proved to be a key asset in his solo battle against Bomb Devil. In addition, he is a talented swordsman who wields a sword made of Angel Devil power throughout the film, and he can use it to inflict great damage on devils. The fact that Aki came out of the explosive duel against Bomb Devil is a testament to how strong and skilled he is.
Angel – Angel Devil
Aki's new partner has terrifying potential
- Debut: Chapter 34 (Manga) Episode 11 (Anime)
- Voiced by: Maya Uchida (Japanese) Casey Mongillo (English)
It is important to clarify that, unlike the other major characters in this film, angel Not a fiend, but an actual angel devil, whose appearance resembles a human because he embodies the concept of angels. Makima herself claims to be one of the strongest hunters in the Angel Special Division (second only to Kishibe) which is why she partners with Aki at the beginning of the film.
As an angel devil, he can fly, absorb human life and, most terrifying of all, transform into powerful weapons with special properties, such as swords or spears. Not only does Aki use one of Angel's katanas throughout the film, but he himself uses this ability to defeat Reize with a shower of spears in the final scene (although he was only able to do so due to Makima's intervention).
Typhoon Satan
The embodiment of Typhoons and Rege's only ally

Typhoon Devil forms an alliance with Reza after killing his previous partner, and remains hidden for most of the film until revealing their true form during the final battle for the playground for Bomb Devil. As expected from Typhoon's avatar, this devil is huge, and their power can destroy entire city blocks, to the point that they come close to killing more than one important character like Aki and Angel. At the end of the day, it took the combined efforts of both Denji and Beam to defeat this menacing behemoth.
Reze – Bomb Devil Hybrid
The main antagonist of the film is an explosive fighter
- Debut: Chapter 40 (Manga) Episode 12 (Anime)
- Voiced by: Reina Ueda (Japanese) Alexis Tipton (English)
This is the literal name of the movie Chainsaw Man – Movie: Reze ArcSo it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to know that its title character, Rezeis also one of the most powerful. After successfully making Denji fall in love with her, she finally reveals her true identity in the middle of the film: she is a Bomb Devil hybrid, and she wants to capture Chains Devil's heart.
Reze is a Soviet spy who has been trained her whole life to carry out dangerous missions, so she is naturally cunning, intelligent, agile and physically strong (as seen when she strangles “Charming Man” to death), but her most valuable and most dangerous asset is clearly her Bomb Devil transformation. She can create a variety of devastating explosives from scratch – such as bombs, grenades and even homing missiles – which she uses to defeat and kill several Devil Hunters in the final arc of the movie. Additionally, and like other hybrids in the series, she is incredibly durable and can regenerate entire body parts by consuming blood. Bomb Devil has one major weakness, however, and that is the fact that he cannot detonate his bombs if wet, which Denji takes advantage of to finally defeat him.
Denji – Chainsaw Devil Hybrid
The main character has no idea how powerful he really is
- Debut: Chapter 1 (Manga) Episode 1 (Anime)
- Voiced by: Kikunosuke Toya (Japanese) Ryan Colt Levi (English)
Denji is the main character The Chainsaw Man And, by extension, the main character of this movie. He made a deal with Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil, in the first episode, which turned him into its eponymous hybrid, meaning he could summon chainsaws from his arms, legs, and head by pulling a rope across his chest. But Denji's thing is that he doesn't know how powerful the Chainsaw Devil really is, and most of the characters who are aware of it keep this information hidden.
She is blinded by Reze's affections, so she is able to get rid of him quickly in the middle of the movie. But after regaining his composure and drinking more blood to heal himself, Denji is able to confront his toxic love interest. Beam reveals to him that the Chains Devil can use his chains to move around the battlefield, but Denzi decides to use them to turn the Shark Devil into his mount, and they kill the Typhoon Devil together. On top of that, he ended up using his chain and kaboo to trap Reize and throw him into the water to negate his powers, which was a surprisingly brilliant moment for a character who often acts dumb and careless.
Makima – Head of Tokyo Special Division 4
Denji and Reize are nowhere near his power level
- Debut: Chapter 1 (Manga) Episode 1 (Anime)
- Voiced by: Tomori Kusunoki (Japanese) Suzy Yeung (English)
Maki She is absent for most of the film, but when she reappears at the end, it is immediately clear that she is the most powerful character and that no one else (not even Rey) can match her in terms of strength and power. Neither Denji nor anime-only fans should know why and how she is so powerful, but the fact that she was able to catch Reize by surprise and defeat him with ease was incredibly impressive.
It makes a lot of sense, however, given that he's the head of Tokyo Special Division 4, some fans can't help but remember how he used his mysterious powers to take down a bunch of yakuza members from afar in season 1. The Chainsaw Man Gets a second season in the near future, anime viewers will soon find out why Makima is so strong and dangerous.
