Marvel-based console video games date back to the 80s. At the time, licensed games were not so well received, as the turnaround between development cycles was short. The cash crunch has led to some amazing games over the years in terms of comic books outside of Marvel, but for the most part, Marvel has had more successful adaptations in the video game market.

Marvel RPGs are a bit of a rare breed, but these are the best among the beat-em-ups and strategy-like games out there.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy not enough Mass Effect In terms of space RPGs, but this is a fun action-adventure romp through different versions of famous heroes. Players can make some decisions when it comes to dialogue, but they won't amount to much.
They can control Star-Lord and issue orders to the rest of the team in real-time during combat, and it can be a lot of fun. Visually, it still looks great, and again, these aren't the MCU versions, there's something appealing about this version of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Before the Spider-Verse films…
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: In the Spider-Verse There are great movies that explore the larger Spider-Man universe, but before those movies, there was Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. Players get to experience many different dimensions, each with their own Spider-Man hero and gameplay style.
For example, the black and white noir segments were more about stealth, while the current Spider-Man got to do his usual swings, punches and kicks. No longer available for purchase on any systems, the game is lost in the dimensional void, which is unfortunate.

Gazillion Entertainment, Secret Identity Studios
Marvel Heroes Originally launched in 2013 and would receive several updates over the years, all leading up to the console launch. Marvel Heroes Omega In 2017. A few months later, the game was discontinued in 2017, after which the studio, Gazillion Entertainment, shut down, so it can no longer be played officially.
The game itself was like a top-down action game DiabloWhere players can choose one of the many heroes like Captain America or Blade and unlock others. It wasn't a perfect experience, but for free Diablo– like a game, Marvel Heroes Omega was great

The first two Marvel Ultimate Alliance Games, too X-Men Legends The spiritual predecessors were well-loved top-down action RPGs that ran on multiple systems, and are still fondly remembered by devoted fans. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was based on a movie of the same name, which, unlike the game, was not well received. The game was, while the movie wasn't as bloody as a Wolverine project should be.
It can best be described as god of war Clone enemies with multiple claw-based moves to learn along the way. It was better than anyone expected, and unfortunately, it's another casualty of late 2000s license-based Marvel games, as it's no longer available to buy.
Disney Infinity 2.0
Marvel enters the Disney universe
Disney Infinity 2.0 was a sequel to the toys-to-life franchise, which added more Marvel heroes and villains to the roster. Players can get playsets based on Marvel campaigns like Avengers or Spider-Man and go through mini-campaigns or run around town.
There were tons of figures to buy, and each character had a huge skill tree to level up. It was aimed at kids, but the detail in these figures was beyond good, and the action was too good for a semi-open-world sandbox game.
