Baldur's Gate adds three subclasses and a new race for console players

Larian is starting May as it ended April, with a bunch of new content for Baldur's Gate 3 console players.

In the last ten days of the month, the company tested and approved 30 pieces of new content for the console version of Baldur's Gate 3, including new races, a cat version of Shadowheart, a werewolf version of Shadowheart, new classes, and new subclasses.

Now, just six days into May, a bunch more content has been added, with 20 new downloads now available for players, this time with three new subclasses and another brand new race.

Baldur's Gate 3 console players can now play as a fiery barbarian and a muscular monk

Larian seems to be playing catch up. After a slow start to the year with the console mode addition, things seem to have ramped up to pre-2026, one-drop-a-week levels. This is the fifth since April 3.

While we're not (and never will be) at the level of mods available to Baldur's Gate 3 PC players (that number sits at around 18,000 at this point), these constant drops are already helping to keep Larian's already massive game completely fresh.

This week, there are 20 new additions, and you can check them all out below:

  • Easy Toggle Tutorial Chest – Adds the ability to summon and dismiss tutorial chests with a passive toggle.
  • D&D Classic Dice Set – Adds five classic D&D-themed dice.
  • background unlock – Adds 10 original backgrounds for Tav.
  • Monks: Bonus Unarmed Strike – The monk's bonus removes the link between the unarmed strike and the attack action.
  • Full party icon buff – Modifies the Camp Statue Bless buff to apply to all characters, not just the statue character.
  • Hellcleaver: Barbarian Subclass – Adds a fire-themed barbarian subclass that gains fire damage, a buff while it or its enemies are burning, and access to flame-themed effects.
  • Priests and Domains PHB2024 – Adds Cleric and Domain changes based on PHB2024.
  • DMH Property Rathgor: Dark Urge Dragonborn CC – Adds DMH assets to Rathgor Heads.
  • College of Command: A bard subclass – Adds a Bard subclass designed around leading allies in battle.
  • Githangi Psychology – Githyanki Psionics is no longer a spell, allowing you to cast it while silenced.
  • Transmogrify Dark Orge: Slayer Equipment – Adds support for transmogrifying tools in Durge.
  • Bane Cain: Cane Weapon for Archduke Gortas – Adds Gortas' staff as a weapon.
  • Shadar-Kai Caste – Adds the Shadar-Kai as a playable race, with two types: Netherese and Elven.
  • Isobel Restored – Isobel changes her outfit, removes her face tattoo, and gives her new makeup and hair color.
  • Florrick: Dirt B is gone— Removes dirt from councilor fluoric.
  • Path of the Forge: A monk subclass – Bludgeoning adds a damage-focused Monk subclass, with the addition of Metal Enchantment and Pyromancy.
  • snail hair – Braided hair adds for all races.
  • Weightless Instant Tutorial Chest – Adds a weightless pouch to the contents of the tutorial chest.
  • Square developed – Allows you to recruit Squire the Crestfallen Hound.
  • Natural hair color in addition to Poesielibre – Adds 36 new natural hair colors.

In my opinion, this is not the most exciting drop. There are three new subcategories okBut nothing here particularly tempts me to return from my BG3 hiatus. The new race, however, is very interesting.
