The Boruto The series is picking up steam in the Two Blue Vortex series, with a new arc officially underway following its recent release in V-Jump Issue #7 on May 20, 2026. Fans have a lot of exciting things to look forward to in the series, and at the same time, there's a new one added to the mix. Boruto guidebook, which is also the most comprehensive guidebook in the Naruto franchise. This guidebook was officially released in Japan on June 4, 2026.
This new Boruto guidebook goes over the events of Part 1 of the series, leading up to the events of the Two Blue Vortex. It also confirmed the character arcs, abilities, and power levels of various characters including the Seventh Hokage of Konoha and everyone's favorite – Naruto Uzumaki. While Naruto was always known as a significant threat to anyone who dared to threaten the ninja world, Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes The most recent release officially confirms him to a level where he can shake the dimensions himself.
The new Boruto Guidebook confirms Naruto Uzumaki to hold dimension shuttering powers
Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes The most recent guidebook, which was officially released on June 4, 2026, focused heavily on the 7th Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki in particular. For one, Naruto was declared the strongest shinobi, and at the same time, his various battles were also covered in detail in this guidebook. The most recent release of the Boruto Guidebook featured Naruto's confrontation with Jigen. This clash officially took place in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation's Chapter 38, released on September 20, 2019, and both Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha were shown to be completely overwhelmed by Jigen's powers.
“Naruto, this guy is seriously bad news, and we must do whatever it takes to defeat him here and now.” — Sasuke shields himself to face Jigen, Boruto Chapter #38
However, it should be noted that in order for Jigen to be able to defeat Naruto and Sasuke, he had to absorb a significant amount of chakra from the 10 Tails, and he was draining so much chakra that he ran out of energy before the fight was completely over. In a fair one-on-one against Jigen, either Naruto or Sasuke would have been able to do better, and it was especially highlighted in a recent guidebook that both Jigen and Naruto have dimension-shattering powers. This is important when it comes to the overall powerscaling of the Naruto verse.
“A clash that crosses dimensions!! Naruto Uzumaki vs. Jigen!” – Boruto Guidebook
Naruto Uzumaki reached extremely high powers with the Six Paths Sage Mode after meeting Hagoromo Otsutsuki in Naruto Chapter 670 published in Shuisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #18 on April 14, 2014. In this chapter Naruto Uzumaki gained half power and Naruto Uzumaki gained half power. Divine power. His power became so high that he was able to defeat Madara Uchiha and, in some instances, even Kaguya Otsutsuki. What the recent release of the Boruto Guidebook confirms is that Naruto is getting stronger. His power reaches such a level in adulthood that he can shake dimensions by draining a fraction of his energy, and that is truly terrifying.

Boruto officially confirms the new power up for Sasuke Uchiha
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Volume 8 has officially confirmed a big power-up for Sasuke Uchiha from the timeskip.
Why Naruto's power as an adult puts him above most of Otsutsuki
Ma Naruto Uzumaki's Power Boruto The series has been heavy since the beginning. In fact, his power is such that, before every fight, Naruto needs to be significantly nerfed. For example, in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation Chapter 8, released on May 4, 2017, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha play with a fused Momoshiki, but both legends of Konoha are significantly absent. As for Naruto, exactly half of his chakra is already taken by Momoshiki, which not only gives him strength but also weakens him significantly.
“What a massive amount of chakra. We're only halfway through! It's taking too long.” – Momoshiki Otsutsuki takes half of Naruto's chakra, Boruto Chapter 7
Similarly, Sasuke Uchiha had to travel to an entirely new dimension with about nine people with him using space-time ninjutsu. It also weakens Sasuke and puts him at half of his energy. With both Naruto and Sasuke weakened, Momoshiki finally stood a chance against them, but was still being completely overwhelmed.
Similarly, in the Jigen Battle, both Naruto and Sasuke were significantly nerfed, and the same happened against Isshiki. In the end, Naruto and Sasuke became so strong that they both had to be disappointed that their strongest abilities were taken away from them. In Boruto Chapter 55, officially released in V Jump Issue #4 on February 19, 2021, Naruto Uzumaki officially loses Kurama's powers. Similarly, Sasuke Uchiha also lost the power of the Rinnegan in Two Blue Vertex chapter #54. This all goes to show that, in adulthood, Naruto and Sasuke had reached such a level that the writers had no choice but to let them down and remove them from the story to give the next generation something to do and shine on their own.

Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha were both cut from the story in separate ways. In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 77, the Seventh Hokage was officially shut down by Kawaki using the power of the Daikokuten. Meanwhile, for Sasuke, it was officially confirmed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5, which was released in June. v-jump Issue #2 on December 20, 2023, that he was taken out by the code and made into a tree, serving the DNA for the creation of Hidari, one of the strongest characters in the entire series.
“You are my father's student. Normally, it would be ideal for you to free him and have him train you directly. However, this is not a practical option.” Boruto teases Naruto's return, To Blue Vortex Chapter 15
Both Naruto and Sasuke are not currently active in the Boruto series, but in the future, they will definitely play an important role. With each passing arc, Naruto and Sasuke's return gets closer. As far as Sasuke Uchiha goes, his return is closer than ever, with Boruto's new arc focusing on Hidari's defeat and the Uchiha's official return. Meanwhile, Naruto's return is also approaching, and once back, he will surely play an important role.
The old generation no longer have to fear because the new generation of ninjas are now stronger than ever. As such, they will all be allowed to display their true powers and go up against strong enemies like Otsutsuki. We absolutely can't wait to see what Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto do with the characters of Naruto and Sasuke going forward, and hopefully, they'll gain important abilities and take part in important battles that shape the overarching story of the Boruto series.
All new chapters of the Boruto series are available to read through Manga Plus and Viz Media.
