How to get inside the monastery ruins in Gothic 1 Remake
You can start by meeting the Gorn in the top-right corner of the star icon on the map. It is marked with a red circle on the map above. He is standing by a stone bridge. Talk to him, and he will guide you to the cave.
Go inside the cave room and loot everything you can, but more importantly, Open the chest in the corner of the room and loot the scroll saying “Transform into Meatbug”.. This is your entry ticket to the monastery.
Since Gorn will follow you, it's best to let him fight. When enemies meet you, just run behind Gorn, and he'll be strong enough to take care of those enemy creatures for you.
Now exit the cave and take the path to the right at the top of the hill. You need to go back to where you met the Gorn, and cross the bridge towards the monastery, watch out for snappers on the other side!
Instead of trying to open the locked iron door, Look left, where there is a bunch of pink flowers on the wall. Go there, and then you'll see several Meatbugs hiding on the ground. It's time to use the “Transform into Meatbug” scroll.
Head straight towards the wall, and you'll find a crack to move through. Continue down the path and pass the snapper and stand in the middle of the yard, where you can Open the iron gate using the lever.
Then you need to enter the corridor in the right corner of the monastery as shown in the image above. Follow the path and use the ledges to climb up.
When you reach the top of the walls, turn right and go straight until you find the entrance to the cave. Go into the cave and take the left path. You'll fight several snappers before facing the boss, the Shadow Beast.
How to beat Shadow Beast in Gothic 1 Remake
The first thing that catches your attention about Shadow Festival is that it can quickly follow you. So, there is no option to run here. That being said, Shadow Beast's attacking moves are slow. It has some rest time between its attack chains, which creates the perfect window to strike and retreat.
One-handed weapons deal significantly less damage, but you may manage to land two hits instead of one. Ranged weapons are not recommended at allShadow Beast is very agile to let you aim and prepare your bow or crossbow.
There is one good one-handed sword on the battlefield, the Sword of Death. If you're fast enough, you can pick it up while the Shadow Beast is chasing you, but it's risky, since the sword is on a dead-end path, and it's almost impossible to equip during combat.
If you don't manage to get the sword of death early, make sure to pick up the weapon after the shadow beast dies.
How to get Focus Stone in Monastery Relics in Gothic 1 Remake
As soon as the shadow beast is defeated, Take the path behind it that leads out. You'll find a focus stone covered in magic. Interact with it to grab the stone.
Do not go back to the exit gate the same way you got to the Focus Stone. Instead, use a small path in the yard. This leads to an iron door that you can open with the handle next to it.
At the end of this path, you'll reach the yard, but make sure to loot the rooms along the way. As soon as you are in the main yard, run towards the exit gate to escape the monastery. You will hear sounds, but just run and don't look back, because a giant troll is chasing you!
When you exit the gate, Gorn will start a conversation with you, and you can tell him about the Focus Stone. When the conversation ends, run after him and let the Gorn deal with the troll. When the juvenile troll is low on health, it will run away. That's when you can chase it down or land a ranged shot to kill the monster and loot what it has to offer.
