since Overwatch's massive relaunch, it's dropping memorable heroes at an impressive rate. The five heroes who came along Overwatch All that leave 2 from its name are winners; Fans love Emre's hello vibes, the long-requested Jetpack Cat's lifeline allows for some wild teamwork, Anran's fast, fiery style feels fresh, Domina's Emma Frost attitude has taken the internet by storm, and Mizuki can be a beast in the hands of the right support player. Sure, Unran's face model needed rework and Season 2 protagonist Sierra suffered from questionable balance and a controversial “boring” design, but the hype surrounding Season 3's Shion suggests Blizzard hit another home run. However, for Apex Legends Fans, she might actually look a little familiar.
Visually, Shion is quite unique. as opposed to Overwatch Among the universe's other omnics, he has a humanoid appearance, boasting long white hair, a high-tech geisha-like metal face mask, normal-looking hands, and a body that could easily pass as a real person. She looks like something out there Cyberpunk or Blade Runner Franchise as opposed to one Apex Legends Character, so at first glance, the comparison may not be so apt. However, mechanically, there are some clear parallels with Respawn's latest legend, Axel, even if Shion's standout character design allows abilities to be packaged in a much cooler way.
Shion is released alongside Overwatch Season 3 on June 16, dropping with a brand new core map and battle pass.

'It's Time to Rip the Band-Aid' – Why Marvel Rivals Needs Overwatch's Most Infamous Feature
As controversial as an Overwatch feature was when it was introduced, it made the game much healthier, and it's time for Marvel rivals to follow suit.
What Overwatch's Shion and Apex Legends' Axle have in common
The most obvious similarity between the latter Overwatch and Apex Legends The characters are actually Shion's feature that fans are talking about the most: her bike. Shion can hop onto a futuristic motorcycle during the game, either using it to get out of combat and to safety, or to propel himself forward in the middle of combat. On the other hand, the Axel is essentially a living bike in her own right, as she is able to use the wheel from her knees through her passive ability. Said passive increases the speed of his slide and allows players full critical directional control of movement ability. Just like Axel players will spend their time around the map instead of running, it's safe to assume that Shion users will mostly be on their bikes.

The similarities didn't stop there, however, as Apex LegendsAxel also has an ultimate ability similar to Shion's implementation. While Shion's ability is a regular cooldown, Axel's Kickstart lacks the initiating element, and looks like an X-Pattern instead of a drone, it has essentially the same purpose. Axel uses Kickstart to finish off low health targets or set them up to kill, and Shion uses Execution to wipe out weakened enemies with his Kira Pistol. Additionally, both characters crave action and violence, boasting arrogant personalities (even if Axel seems a bit more sensible than he is. Overwatch counterpart). It's not hard to notice these similarities, but Shion is more than just an Axel clone, as he has a few things that make him even more compelling as a character.
Why is Shion a more interesting character than Axel?
While Axel was exciting purely because she was the first Legend in almost a year, character wise, she doesn't have as much going for her as Shion. She's visually soft outside of the rear wheels on her feet, not standing out as much as the all-white robot that speaks from her neck. Story wise, Shion has already received a story trailer and is likely to appear in many Overwatch Comics and lore drops throughout Season 3, while there are no stories from Outlands for the most part Apex Legends Season means the axle feels less developed in comparison. And, when it comes to mechanics, Shion has a lot to offer. His Ultimate allows him to charge enemies like a Beyblade, and because Overwatch A hero shooter rather than a battle royale, he has a signature weapon that no other character in the game uses, giving him even more personality.

Shion's other big advantage over Axel is that he's unlikely to feel out of sorts. Sure, her gameplay trailer makes her abilities devastating, but Overwatch Heroes opposing Shion are not firing back or being healed. And after Sierra was criticized for feeling overpowered throughout Season 2, Blizzard will likely be extra careful not to release another DPS character that feels overpowered. Axel, on the other hand, is considered by many to be overpowered Apex Legends Because of the constant slide spam, fans, especially console players, feel like they can't compete with a skilled Excel user. So, while there are some ability similarities, Shion seems like the more interesting hero from a visual, mechanical, and lore perspective. Also, she (hopefully) won't be as strong as she was at launch supremeproved to be the 28th legend.
