Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes Written by Mikio Ikemoto and supervised by Masashi Kishimoto, the legendary creator of the Naruto series. While the original series focused on Naruto Uzumaki's story until he became the Seventh Hokage, the romance was just a side plot, which the author didn't pay much attention to. By Kishimoto's own admission, he was not good at writing romance, so he tried to avoid it as much as possible. However, Mikio Ikemoto takes a very different approach.
In her stories, the feelings of romance and love are at the center and are incredibly important in many storylines. Now, the latest V-Jump issue #8, set to be officially released on June 20, 2026, has been revealed, and on the cover, Boruto's most hyped-up pairing was showcased to us for the first time. It is a pair of main characters – Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex unveils new art by Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha on the cover of V-Jump Issue #8
A glimpse of June 14, 2026 v-jump Issue #8 was officially revealed, and in this look, it was confirmed that Boruto: Two Blue Vortex would be featured on the cover of the magazine. For this cover, Mikio Ikemoto drew a very interesting art featuring his two main characters Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha. Both Boruto and Sarada are seen sporting red outfits that are clearly matching. At the same time, Sarada is leaning on Boruto's shoulder, and the two of them are posing together in a rather interesting way that definitely evokes the conversation they had as a couple at the end of the series.
“Anyway, I've decided to stop running. I like Boruto too.” — Sarada Uchiha declares her feelings for Boruto, Two Blue Vortex Chapter #28.
It's no surprise to learn that Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha have been shipped together by fans and have been since the beginning of the story in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump issue #23 on May 9, 2016. Since then, writers Mikio Ikemoto and Masashi Kishimoto have also done great line uplines for these two personalities. Both Boruto and Sarada are known to harbor feelings of love for each other, and although they are not involved in a romantic relationship, the ship is definitely there for all to see. This new cover shown will be released in full on June 20, 2026, adding more fuel to the fire for this fabulous duo.

Boruto officially confirms a new rescue arc after 21 years
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex officially sets up its new rescue arc featuring Sarada Uchiha, Code, and Boruto Uzumaki.
Both Boruto and Sarada are implied to have feelings for each other
Boruto and Sarada's ship is officially known as 'Borusara' among fans, and is very popular. This is because Boruto is Uzumaki Naruto's son, while Sarada is Sasuke's daughter. In the original series, Naruto and Sasuke were also sent together but never ended up together. However, their children are very different. Boruto and Sarada are prime candidates to have the biggest romance in the Boruto series, and the latest V-Jump issue #8 cover certainly highlights that once again.
“You want to help Boruto, don't you? You really are my child. To be willing to give up everything else for the sake of a single boy.” — Sakura confesses Sarada's love for Boruto, Two Blue Vortex Chapter #34
In fact, in the main story, Sarada Uchiha harbors deep feelings of love for Boruto Uzumaki. She has put her life on the line for Boruto multiple times, allowing herself to slander him over the course of three years, and even her Mangekyo Sharingan, her strongest power, is awakened due to her deep desire to save none other than Boruto Uzumaki. Meanwhile, Boruto himself has put his life on the line for Sarada on several occasions and is known to have more than just friendly feelings towards her.
Due to the chaotic, action-heavy nature of the story it is highly unlikely for any romantic bond to form between them before the end of the series, it is important that Ikemoto and Kishimoto accept their feelings for each other and the ship that they are slowly building. When Boruto: The Two Blue Vortex ends, it is very likely that Konoha's Hokage at the time, Sarada Uchiha, will be together with the village's other Hokage who protects it from the shadows, Boruto Uzumaki. It would be a perfect romantic endgame for these two people, as well as a sweet ending for the story.
