Marathon's PvE only Vault Breaker mode changes the extraction rules

As part of Marathonof Season 2 revealed, Bungie confirmed that two new PvE modes are coming to the game. At launch, players could attempt an experimental mode sponsored survival, which consisted of a single team infiltrating the Night Marsh map, with single rookie NPC enemies added over time to add a bit of tension. However, later in Season 2, Bungie promised a dedicated PvE-only playlist, and as the Midseason Update approaches, Bungie has given fans a deep dive into how the mode will play.

Known as Vault Breaker, players will be explored MarathonThe final game Cryo Archives map when the Midseason Update arrives on July 21st. Instead, players will take with them a new currency called Vault Data, which can be exchanged for gear that can be upgraded to Vault Breaker sponsored kit and used in other game modes. This change was implemented to allow players to explore Cryo Archives without “flooding the economy” with low-risk, high-powered loot.

While Marathon may be struggling to find a mainstream audience, Vault Breaker is the shake-up the game needs. Season 2 Marathon It didn't start the way many wanted it to, so Bungie is essentially trying to play catch up once again. However, Vault Breaker seems to be just the beginning of what Bungie has planned for the rest of Season 2, with the post teasing several quality-of-life changes and new features being added. Cradle is also getting some new features, speeding up progression and allowing players to “reputate” their stats once in a while to earn unique cosmetics as well as an extra maximum energy point.
