Netflix recently announced at Anime Expo 2026 that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will return later this year in the fall. If you haven't seen the show before, here's your warning Large bold text: Click away. We are trying to spoil.
At the end of the first season, almost everyone – David included – flatlined, meaning Edgerunners 2 is introducing an entirely new team. Netflix and CD Projekt Red have spent the last four days releasing individual character teasers, and the latest post (embedded below) serves as our first official look at the team:
The whole team assembled
The emaciated 'King' Kingsley, a seasoned edgerunner who “now lives in a shadow of his former glory,” can be seen hanging over the gang in the background. On the left, sitting on a crate, is D, a Snack Nation netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan. The pink-haired woman on the right is Talia Yang; She's from Corpo Tower, “but her mind is all about chrome and violence.” And finally, right in front – holding the camera – is Roman Carax, “a young cinephile who abandoned the cinema for mind dance in search of real stories in the city.”
Kai Ikarashi, who worked in the art department on the first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners — and whose previous credits include Mob Psycho 100, Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time, and Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade — is taking over as director, while Hiroyuki Emerge from the studio will continue producing.
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077 – a raw tale of redemption and revenge,” reads the description. “In a city that thrives on the spotlight of violence, one question remains: When the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes must you go to to make your story matter?”
