The Eight Inner Gates is an extremely powerful and dangerous technique introduced early in the series. This technique has eight steps; Each of those steps increases the user's power by a large margin. The eighth and final gate is said to provide power that transcends the five cages themselves, making this technique the strongest in the entire series.

Kakashi is known as the Copy Ninja due to his unparalleled mastery of the Sharingan. With the help of the dojutsu, Kakashi has copied over a thousand jutsu, and one of them is the Eight Inner Gates. Due to physical restrictions, Kakashi could only use the First Gate, which only increased his power by a small amount. However, it served as a potential trump card, especially in situations where he needed more physical strength.
For most of the story, Kakashi relied on his ninjutsu and dojutsu. Since he specializes in them, it's only natural that they take over before other abilities. It is important to remember that while Kakashi was an expert in Taijutsu, he preferred not to use it in most cases.

Might Guy showed the true potential of the Eight Gates

Might Guy is the only person who has demonstrated the true extent and potential of the Eight Inner Gates. He is a true master who taught Rock Lee. The boy was hailed as the last taijutsu master of the Hidden Leaf, and throughout the series, he proved that no one else deserved the title. Might Guy never lost a single fight, which is a major testament to his skill as a fighter.
He overcame all enemies with such overwhelming power that his opponents felt weak in comparison. A prime example of this is the boy's fight against Madara. Rock Lee surpassed every Tajutsu user after the Fourth Great Ninja War

Rock Lee is a ninja who is unable to use any form of ninjutsu. Lee suffered from an inability to absorb chakra, leading everyone, including himself, to question whether he could ever become a ninja. However, Lee had the heart of a lion, so he did not give up. Her spirit caught the attention of the boy, who saw himself in Lee. Like Lee, the boy was underestimated by everyone, and he felt isolated from his peers. So, he decided to train Lee.
Rock Lee worked extremely hard, pushing his body beyond its limits. At just 13 years old, Lee was already able to use five of the eight gates.
