A key piece of the Dynamax puzzle is missing in Pokemon Go's Max Out update

This could allow Niantic to create special max raids on power spots that give players a chance to capture one for their own team against rare Gigantamax mons.

How mega raids are variations of standard raids where the Raid Boss is a mega-evolved mon, Gigantamax mons can fill the same role as rare versions of standard Dynamax raids. Pokemon Go Might as well use a different type of Max Particle for Gigantamax Mons as Mega Evolution requires Mega Energy. With the potential of Gigantamax critters already waiting inside Pokemon GoMax out season, as players are used to standard dynamaxing it would be wise to capitalize on this new mechanic.
