Alden Ring's Tarnished Edition content will be released as DLC on other platforms.

Alden Ring is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 even though Radio Silence is on Nintendo Switch 2 due to the delay from 2025. FromSoftware is finally ready to put a new release date on the port, and the studio has confirmed that the extra content added to the game will not be locked to the new Nintendo console.

Those waiting on their way to the 2022 Game of the Year on Switch 2 won't have to wait much longer. The tarnished version arrives on August 28, 2026. Additional content will be made available on the same day for those who already own Alden's Ring on other platforms via the tarnished DLC pack. The bad news is that you have to pay for it.

“Additional content included in the #ELDENRING Tarnished Edition will be available for purchase on other platforms as well. The Tarnished Pack DLC will launch on August 28, 2026,” confirms a follow-up post to the release date on Elden Ring's X account. It also covers PS4 and Xbox One, although the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was next-gen exclusive, the Tarnished DLC could probably be used with the base game which was a cross-gen release.
