In the Hello Kitty Island Adventure City Town DLC, players will use the Chef’s Station in the Imagination Cafe to create new regional dishes. While there are only a few recipes available to unlock, cooking at the Imagination Cafe can feel complicated because of the many variations of each recipe. Making the recipes requested by Imagination Cafe customers and Hungry Figments requires players to understand the basics of each recipe and every possible flavor combination.
To make cooking in Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s Imagination Cafe a little easier, we’ll outline the basic recipe for each new dish and its standard variations. We’ll also provide a list of every available flavor and the ingredients you’ll need to make each one.

All Ingredients that Flavor Recipes in City Town
When attempting to make a specific dish in City Town, it’s important to understand that every flavor has a set list of ingredients that add that flavor to any dish. Each ingredient will only add its designated flavor. Any dish that requires multiple flavors will need you to combine multiple ingredients with those flavors. The flavors available to add to dishes in City Town include the following:
All the new fruity flavors found in the City Town DLC will require you to unlock and grow the City Town Orchard. Similarly, the imaginary flavors can be found after completing the “Sewer Sights” questline.

Mochi Recipes
Players will receive both the Mochi Recipe and the Rice Flour Recipe during the “A Whole New Menu” quest. Completing this quest will also give players full access to the Chef’s Station in the Imagination Cafe.
Mochi is one of the easiest recipes in the game, requiring only Rice Flour and an additional ingredient for flavor. Any flavor of Mochi can be given to Usahana as a two-heart gift.

Dango Recipes
The Dango Recipe is unlocked by upgrading your friendship with Usahana to level 6. The Dango is a more complicated version of the Mochi recipe because it uses three flavor ingredients instead of one. Like Mochi, however, it is a two-heart gift for Usahana.
While you can mix-and-match flavors freely, there are really only three basic combinations of Dango. The differences between these Dango combinations are the number of different flavors they contain and how much of each flavor you use.

Rainbow Dango Recipes
Players will unlock the Rainbow Dango Recipe once they reach friendship level 16 with Usahana. It is nearly identical to the Dango Recipe, but it substitutes Sticks for Rainbow Beams. The Rainbow Beams add the Rainbow tag to the Rainbow Dango, making it a three-heart gift for Usahana.
The Rainbow Dango has three basic combinations that are identical to those of the regular Dango. Just like the Dango, these combinations are based on how many flavors of Mochi you use and the amount of each flavor in the Dango.

Boba Recipes
The Boba Recipe is unlocked through Usahana’s “Tea Time” quest. This quest is unlocked by reaching friendship level 9 with Usahana.
It is one of the most complicated recipes you’ll make at the Chef’s Station in the Imagination Cafe. You’ll have to carefully choose which flavor to add, whether to add Coral Milk and Tapioca, and how much honeycomb to add based on the requested sweetness. Players are limited to ordering 22 Tea Leaves and 22 Tapioca from the cafe’s system each day, so you won’t have much room to practice outside of making orders.
Both customers and Hungry Figments may request very detailed Boba orders. The easiest way to make these orders is by understanding how the names of the requested drinks reflect the ingredients they should contain. To help you learn how to make Boba orders by name, the following table will explain the types of ingredients that can be added to a Boba and how they will change the tea’s name.
Since Boba is a one-heart gift for Usahana, we recommend only making these drinks for quests or cafe orders.

Boba Tea Customization |
Required Ingredient |
|---|---|
|
Base Recipe: (Flavor) Tea, No Boba |
Tea Leaves x1 Flavor ingredient x1 |
|
(Flavor) Boba Tea |
Add Tapioca |
|
(Flavor) Milk Tea |

|
Unsweetened |
No Honeycomb |
|
Semi-Sweet |
Add Honeycomb x1 |
|

Add Honeycomb x2 |
|
Very Sweet |
Add Honeycomb x3 |
In essence, you only add the flavors you want to a Boba Tea. For example, when making a Semi-Sweet Apple Milk Boba Tea, you should start with the base recipe of Tea Leaves and one Apple. You would then add Tapioca, Coral Milk, and one Honeycomb to make the flavor match the drink’s description.
Snow Ice Recipes
The Snow Ice Recipe will be discovered along with the Shaved Ice Recipe during the “Room for Dessert” quest. It is a simple recipe like Mochi, although it is only a one-heart gift for Usahana.

Onigiri Recipes
Onigiri is another rather simple recipe that only needs its base ingredients and an additional ingredient for flavoring. This recipe can be discovered in the City Town Sewers anytime after completing the “Above and Below” quest in City Town. Players will discover the Seaweed Sheets recipe at the same time.
Onigiri is a one-heart gift for Usahana. Since Seaweed can be hard to come by, it’s best to save your Seaweed Sheets for cafe orders and Figments instead.

Taiyaki Recipes
The Taiyaki Recipe is given to players during the “Taiyaki Trials” quest. Players will receive the Batter Recipe alongside it, so you’ll be able to cook it immediately after getting the recipe.
Taiyakis are another simple dish that changes based on the flavoring ingredient used. Regardless of what you choose, all Taiyaki flavors are one-heart gifts for Usahana.

Sando Recipes
The Sando Recipe is one of the later recipes you’ll discover for the Imagination Cafe. It is given to players during the “Treemendous Tastes” quest, so players will need to complete the “Outside the Block” and “Branching Out” quests before they can unlock it. Players will receive the Whipped Cream Recipe right after unlocking the Sando Recipe.
The Sando has three basic combinations that depend on which flavors are used in the Sando and how many of each. These combinations are identical to those of the Dango, Rainbow Dango, and Ramen Recipes. Any Sando will be a one-heart gift for Usahana.

Ramen Recipes
The Ramen Recipe is only available to players who have both the Wheatflour Wonderland and City Town DLCs. To unlock this recipe, players will need to have destroyed the Opal Barrier near Cogimyon’s Corral and have made progress in the City Town story.
Like the Dango and Sando recipes, Ramen comes in three basic combinations depending on the flavors added to it. Any bowl of Ramen is a one-heart gift to Usahana.

Nigiri Recipe
The Nigiri Recipe is unlocked during the “Secret Ingredients” quest after players meet Kirimi. It is a relatively simple recipe that allows players to combine rice, one flavor ingredient of their choice, and one of the spices unlocked while feeding Kirimi’s Sashimi Spire.
Nigiri is a one-heart gift for Usahana. Instead of gifting them to her, any Nigiri you make is best used to feed the Sashimi Spire.

Sushi Roll Recipe
The Sushi Roll is the final Chef’s Station Recipe you’ll learn for the Imagination Cafe. It will be unlocked toward the end of the “Bonus Stage” quest in City Town. Its combinations are identical to those of the Dango and Sando recipes because its only variation is swapping three ingredients for different flavors.
Like all of the other late-game recipes, the Sushi Roll is only a one-heart recipe for Usahana. It’s a recipe best saved for Imagination Cafe and Figment orders.
