Embark Studios has started rolling out a brand new ARC Raiders The update today, April 30, hopes to address a recent issue that was disabling crossplay for many players. the latter ARC Raiders The update, which can be downloaded right now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, comes just days after the launch of Riven Tides and brings the game to version 1.26.1 with a small number of bug fixes and general improvements.
Earlier this week, Embark released the highly anticipated Riven Tides update, marking the end of the current 2026 roadmap. While the patch added tons of free content to the popular extraction shooter, it also appears to be broken ARC RaidersCrossplay functionality. Shortly after the update went live, players took to social media to report that the crossplay setting was suddenly disabled and greyed out, meaning it couldn't be re-enabled. This meant that it was impossible to integrate with other platforms and as a result thousands of fans were unable to party with friends outside of their respective platforms.

Thankfully, Embark was quick to address the crossplay bug and provided fans with a temporary fix. However, those who don't want to reset all their game settings are kept waiting for the official fix, which is now rolling out to users on all platforms. According to Embark, the latter ARC Raiders The update, which brings the shooter to version 1.26.1 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, addresses an important issue with users turning off crossplay and includes additional fixes for crashes. The team also said it has fixed some color variants on certain backpacks as it works to address more common crashes for a future patch.

Patch 1.26.1 doesn't include any content, but it was just earlier this week ARC Raiders Treated to a big Riven Tides update. The free update brought tons of new content to the shooter, including a brand-new map, also known as Riven Tides, a new massive ARC enemy known as the Turbine, tons of new items, and more. Fans can also jump into the new Beachcombing map mode, which is exclusive to Riven Tides and allows players to get out their metal detectors and dig up some prizes on the beach.
Riven Tides also marked the beginning ARC Raiders' The third expedition, which is preparing to depart on May 11. Those looking to reset their progress in exchange for some in-game benefits, such as extra stash space and the potential to earn five extra skill points, will need to make sure they contribute to their caravan so they can leave the Rust Belt next month. Embark also made some pretty big changes with the third campaign, removing the stash/coin value requirement for skill points and introducing a brand new damage challenge. Players will now need to reach 100,000 damage before May 11 if they want to earn all five skill points for the campaign.

ARC Raiders' Player numbers have been dropping drastically in recent weeks, but the release of Riven Tides seems to have brought players back into the game, at least for now. According to data from SteamDB, Embark's extraction shooter has been averaging around 80,000 to 95,000 players during peak hours on Steam. That number has managed to climb to 135,000 with the game's latest update, but it's still a far cry from Shrouded Sky, which had more than 250,000 concurrent players at the time of its release in February.
