Best Servants in Fate/Zero

The Fate anime series involves Holy Grail wars fought in search of the ultimate wish-granting device. To aid the wizards in this quest, heroic spirits called servants are summoned based on legends that exist in the past. There are as many direct battles as direct fights, but a Servant's strength is the deciding factor in who walks away with this almighty Grail.

Who is the strongest Servant of the Fifth Holy Grail War in Destiny / Stay Night?

Featuring some of the strongest Servants of any Fate series, such as Iskander, Saber, and Gilgamesh, as well as some uniquely powerful obstacles for these three kings, you can find out who is the strongest Servant in Fate/Zero. Every single servant here, is ranked purely on their own strength!

7 the murderer

Hasan of a hundred faces

The only assassin class servants Fuyuki can summon in the wars are the 19 bearers of the Persian title of Old Man of the Mountain, or Hasan-i Sabbat. Of which Hassan is the 19th and last bearer of the name of the Hundred Faces. Like other assassins, Hundred Face Hassan specializes in sneaking around and gathering intel rather than direct combat.

However, other assassin-class Servants have ways to compensate, such as Cursed Hand Hassan's Jabanya shatters his target's heart, a Hundred Face Hassan has no such ability. Instead, the assassin can split himself into 100 different entities, making the servant the best at gathering information, but the worst everywhere else.

6 Lancer

Diarmuid

Lancers are of three knight classes. As such, they are often among the strongest melee fighters during the Holy Grail War, along with sabers and archers. However, even if he's able to keep up with the saber, Diarmuid is one of the weakest lancers we've ever seen on Destiny. Even if he is not very powerful, he more than makes up for it with his high combat IQ and cunning as well as his potential for Noble Phantasms.

The long red spear, Gae Dearg, is capable of overwhelming all magical constructs. This gives Lancer a huge advantage over opponents stronger than him, as seen by him negating Saber's magical armor and being able to completely nullify Berserker's Noble Phantasm. He also has a short yellow spear called Gae Buidhe, a weapon that can never heal from a wound that it inflicts.

5 Berserker

Lancelot

Servant Berserker Lancelot from FateZero reacts to a sword thrown at him.

Berserker's main Noble Phantasm, Night of Owner, can turn anything he touches into a personal Noble Phantasm. This is limited to anything that can be considered a weapon. In Fate/Zero, we saw him use modern machinery like guns, missiles, and fighter jets as weapons.

Although less interesting than the other special abilities, this straightforward skill allows Berserker to grab Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon weapons, turn them into his own weapons, and reflect an incoming barrage. Furthermore, even though the Insane Enhancement skill would normally cause the user to lose dexterity and combat prowess, Lancelot can move effortlessly, almost completely negating the weakness.

4 caster

Gilles de Rais

During his life, Gilles De Raise was completely fascinated by Jeanne d'Arc, so much so that he became a devout worshiper of God, believing Jeanne to be a miracle of divine origin. He supported him financially and as a knight in many battles during the Crusades; However, when Jean was finally executed for heresy, he began to doubt the existence of God.

Gilles De Raise began committing heinous crimes: kidnapping, murdering and abusing children, all so that God could punish him and prove his existence, and justify all the lives he took in God's name. However, this decision never came, and so this Mad Caster exists.

While considered the weakest of the casters in terms of actual combat ability, his Noble Phantasm, Prelati's spellbook, allows him to instantly replenish all mana he spends. This allows him to create an unlimited supply of monsters, becoming a strong enough threat that even Saber, Lancer, and Rider cannot easily deal with.

3 Suede

Artoria Pendragon

Based on King Arthur, Artoria is a king among kings. Absolutely flawless, without any flaws. She was a selfless king who only wished for the good of her people. However, it was this supreme, inhumanly compassionate character of his that caused his men to isolate him, eventually betray him and kill him.

Of the seven main classes, the Saber class is considered the strongest. Among the various summonable heroes in that class, Artoria is the strongest. She is unbeatable as a swordsman and knight and is made even more formidable by the length and stealth nature of her sword. Not only that, he also possesses the legendary sword Excalibur, capable of destroying hordes of enemies with a single swing with ease.

2 rider

Iskandar

Servant Rider is based on Alexander the Great, King of Conquerors; During his lifetime, he created the greatest reign to date, establishing himself as the greatest monarch in history. He wanted to dominate the whole world and see its end, but before he could do so his life left him, and his kingdom collapsed as soon as he left this world. As a servant, Iskander was as remarkable as his living self, and while the Rider class was generally too weak to hold its own in direct combat against the Three Knight Classes, Iskander had no problem fighting with a saber, even earning the full respect of Gilgamesh.

His chariot, the Gordious Wheel, lets him use the Noble Phantasm Via Expognatio, ramming the enemy with sparks of electricity. However, that is only one aspect of Iskander's true power. Iskander's true Noble Phantasm is the Ionioi Hetairoi, a veritable marble that allows him to call upon his life tens of thousands of heroic souls who serve under him. It is Alexander's trump card and is said to be potentially as strong as Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon.

1 Archer

Gilgamesh

The King of the Hero's Noble Phantasm is called Babylon's Gate, the strongest Noble Phantasm of any Servant in Destiny. This allows Gilgamesh to summon and rain upon his enemies an infinite supply of weapons from his treasury. These weapons include Noble Phantasms associated with other heroic spirits.

While he usually only uses weapons as projectiles to send them out, he can still use phantasms to their full potential, as seen in his use of Enkidu to capture Heracles in Fate/Stay Night. If you piss him off, Gilgamesh has access to Enuma Ilish (EA), a Noble Phantasm capable of erasing reality itself, with no way to defend against it.
