Borderlands 4 fans think they've found DLC 2's Vault Hunter in a new datamine

Reddit user jakobsestate shared his findings from a datamine Border 4of the subtitles they conducted and found what could be a reference to the next DLC Vault Hunter in unused dialogue. The name “Loveless” appears several times in the datamined subtitles, potentially suggesting it is the name of the Vault Hunter coming in DLC 2. It's unclear who, or what, this Loveless is, especially since they refer to themselves as “we”, but the fact that the name appears in several dialogue options supports the theory that they have a second DLC planned.

In Mad Alley and the Vault of the Damned DLC, the character Mancubus can make several different comments about the game's Vault Hunters, including one line of dialogue, “Looks like you've suffered an infinite relapse, eh, Mistress Lovelace.” While it was initially believed to be directed Border 4Co Vex, these newly revealed lines of dialogue suggest that “Loveless” is an entirely different character that Mancubus is referring to here. Since this dialogue appears alongside other quips directed at the game's Vault Hunters, it's easy to see how this could be a teaser for a future playable character.

To further strengthen this theory, user jakobsestate found the name Loveless in dialogue unused, along with other variations for the rest of the Vault Hunters. In an image posted on Reddit, “Yes! It's Lovelace — we're a Vault Hunter” can be found alongside a variation of the same dialogue for the existing Vault Hunter Rafa, which reads “Yes! It's Rafa. I'm a Vault Hunter.” What's more, another line of dialogue was found, which read “We're loveless. I'm looking for a woman named Ellie.” While this line incorrectly mixes up pronouns, it further cements the idea that Lovelace is the name of a playable character.

Commenting on the post of user jakobsestate already theorizes that this mysterious Lovelace could be and how it could work as a vault hunter. Some users note the character's use of the pronoun “we” when referring to himself, suggesting it may be some sort of highwaymind, while others theorize that Loveless may even be an Aridian Vault Hunter. Another possibility is that the Lovelaces are using the royals as what we think of as a kind of status symbol, meaning they might be more posh vault hunters.
