The following article contains spoilers for Elite Season 4 Classroom.
Class of Elite Season 4 (Youjitsu Season 4) is once again delivering a great season with interesting episodes and a plot that slowly builds tension for a special trial at the end of the first term. While not as sophisticated as the animation series a pieceIt's overall quite decent and pleasant (at least for now).
The sixth episode of the new season is like a bridge to the upcoming shows, as the class and students are preparing for the exams. Because of this, the episode may seem a bit slow to some, but sometimes the slow pace is necessary to develop the plot.
Best anime to watch if you like elite class
This excellent anime has similarities to Elite's Classroom and is highly recommended to fans of the show.
Preparing for the Desert Island Special Trial
The special test introduced at the end of Episode 5 is still months away, but some rules have already been introduced. Students can form small groups, and small groups can form large groups (up to six members). There are certain rules for how groups should be formed, including the ratio of male and female students in certain situations.
Students from different classes can be in the same group, as long as they are all in the same year. However, cross-class groups will divide potential earned points across classes, so, while joining groups with students from “good” classes may be good for individuals to reduce risks, it can also be bad for classes with low scores. Horikita still seems unsure of what strategy would be best to pursue in this matter, but she considers the idea of forming alliances with other factions. While a risky move, it could allow a three-class alliance against Class A, which could put the top class at serious risk.
Do you mean to say that the enemy of my enemy is my friend? A rational thought.
— Suzune Horikita in Yujitsu Season 4, Episode 6
However, Horikita believes that Class A will step in to stop it (and she is right, as Sakayanagi proposes an alliance with Ichinose in order to stop Class A from sabotaging). Waiting to see how the other class representatives will react, Horikita asks Class D not to group with anyone yet. In fact, she has little interest in making a block against Class A.
The actual risk of the particular test
The biggest risk in “Desert Island Survival Game Special Test” is expulsion. According to the rules, students in the bottom five groups will be fined and expelled. They can be saved with points, but Horikita wants to avoid the situation where many Class D students are in the bottom group, because their class points are not enough to save them all. Furthermore, if all members of the group (or a student taking the test alone) are unable to continue the test and drop out, they will face penalties that will lead to expulsion.
Despite Horikita's instructions, a student from Class D joined a group with two members of Class B (but only after talking openly with his classmates). The problem is that the student in question is Satsuki Shinohara, the girl Kanji has fallen for Ike. While Satsuki seems to reciprocate Kanji's feelings, they haven't talked about it with each other. Furthermore, the person who invited Satsuki to join their group was Kyogo Kamiya, a boy from Class B who apparently wanted to confess his feelings for her during the trial. While this wouldn't normally be a big issue in itself, Ayanokoji and Horikita are a bit worried that the love triangle might undermine Ike's performance during the trial.

As for Ayanokoji, he has decided to take the test alone. Probably, this is the best strategy for him as the other special test, where the first-years will be awarded points if they expel Ayanokoji (introduced in the first four episodes of the new season), will last until the end of the first term. Also, some students are given cards through the school app that can help or complicate their exam situation. Ayanokoji received a “trial card”, which increased the class points earned by 50%, but penalized their group if they did not place in the top 30%. He seems confident that he can take first place, though (no wonder he's often dubbed the smartest character in anime history). However, he has yet to find out who the student in the white room is among the first years.
What to expect next this season
The survival game will be held at the end of July. Given that the season will cover the first term, it suggests that the season will end with the results of this test. This episode was like a prelude to the tension we will see during the trial. Since there are still more groups to be formed, the next episode is likely to still focus on exam preparation, especially after Horikita establishes the best approach to save the Class D students from expulsion. Despite the continuity of the story, the fourth season is a great entry point for the franchise.
