Crash Bandicoot breaks the silence with a possible 30th anniversary teaser

It looks like Crash Bandicoot might be gearing up for some sort of announcement for its 30th anniversary, as a new teaser has been shared out of nowhere.

Unless you're Banjo-Kazooie, this is a really good time to be a platforming mascot. From Pac-Man and Croc to Bubsy and Gex, we've seen revivals, remasters and new games for many of our favorite characters in the genre. Spyro is also coming back after a ridiculously long hiatus, suggesting Xbox is finally paying attention to what it's got.

Of course, it's left everyone wondering if Crash Bandicoot, which is also oddly owned by Xbox, is going to make its own comeback, as it's been a few years since the last Crash game, and even more so lately. good one After that long silence, it looks like Crash is teasing some kind of return, but what exactly it's for is a bit hazy.

Let's hope it's not Netflix or Fortnite

As pointed out by Twitter user SpyroUniverse, the official Crash Bandicoot social media accounts recently shared a new post out of the blue after going quiet for a while, outside of holiday posts. The video shows mascot Crash walking on set and sitting in a chair, with the captions “Preparing my documentary on 90s video game mascots” and “Ready for my close up”.

For the record, whatever is happening no A documentary, and instead is a teaser for what's actually being announced. Crash has a long history of weird hints and teases ahead of his next project, and, with the series' 30th anniversary later this year, it's very possible that this tease is ramping up.

The marker shown at the beginning of the video has many hints of the crash reaching 30 years, if you need more hints it could do with the anniversary.

This leaves us with what is being announced. While I'd love to say it could be a new game, it's worth noting that Crash is heavily rumored to be getting an animated show on Netflix (which would fit into this thing) and is also said to be coming to Fortnite. Both of those seem like what's being teased here rather than a new game.

To think a little more positively, it's worth noting that a leaker who shares the existence of both Rayman Legends Retold and Spyro: A Realm Beyond has claimed that the new Crash is coming in 2028 even before the announcement. That's still a long way off, but it could potentially be confirmed as part of the anniversary.
