of Jujutsu Kaisen The Shinjuku Showdown arc was an unprecedented experience that officially ended at Chapter 271 in 2024. During its run, it provided some of the best battles we've ever seen in a story, and it also saw the strongest mages come together and showcase their true skills. Of course, the sheer amount of battles in this arc meant there were also a lot of incredible power-ups.
Series creator Gege Akutami showed many amazing characters reach new heights in this arc, and while there are many new power-ups, only a handful can be considered the best.

Yuji has risen to power. Gege shows its new power level in JJK Modulo.
Hiromi Higuruma's RCT
Hiromi Higuru was a bit of a focus in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. After entering the attack against the King of Curses, he had a mountain to climb, but he was able to impress Sukuna, something not many mages have pulled off. When Higuruma was bitten by Sukuna, he was able to recover by figuring out how to use RCT on the spot, and this is something that only a select few geniuses can do. Gege Akutami officially labeled him a talent on the same level as Gozo.
Higuruma's domain amplification
Higuruma learns how to use the Reverse Cursed Technique and earns Sukuna's admiration, but that's not all he does. He also learned the Anti-Domain technique while fighting Sukuna. This technique was none other than domain amplification. In fact, not only had he learned how to use Domain Amplification, but he was able to switch between using amplification and attacking Sukuna effortlessly.
Sukuna compared his use of this switch to his own, and that is praise of the highest order. It was an incredible power-up that, in hindsight, deserves more respect.
Gozo's unique RCT circuit
Gozo received a very interesting power-up in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. During the fight against Sukuna, he managed to hit several black flashes. In fact, Gozo unleashed four black flashes in a row, one of which dealt terrible damage to the King of Curses as well. After his Black Flash, Gozo was able to create a unique Reverse Cord Technique circuit in his mind. This allowed him to regain his RCT, and essentially his burning curse technique as well. While Gozo had technically lost his RCT at this point, the Black Flash allowed him to create a different circuit to use, making him even more adept at healing.
Upgrade to Sukuna's Shrine
Sakuna also received a major power-up in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. Here, Sukuna wanted a blueprint to bypass Gozo's Infinity. Thanks to the Maharaja, he managed to do so. Essentially, Sukuna learned how to expand and transform the goal of his technique from one person to the entire world.
This allowed Sukuna to slash just about everything in the world, including Infinity, and with that, he was able to create a new technique that essentially kills in one shot, called World Splitting Dismantle.

JJK characters undergo awakenings that fundamentally change them, and significantly increase their strength.
Yugi's Reverse Cursed Technique
Yuji made a lot of progress during the 1 month timeskip, and he was able to reach new levels of power, starting with gaining the ability to use the Reverse Cursed Technique. In Shinjuku Showdown, when Yuji entered the battle against Tsukuna, he showed the ability to heal from serious injuries.
Despite being hit by Sukuna's powerful claws several times, sometimes even at point-blank range, Yuji still got up and recovered using his RCT, which is quite impressive. His heading was aided significantly by his blood manipulation cursed technique.

UG's Anti-Domain Technique
Yuji not only learned the ability to use the Reverse Cursed technique, but he also managed to learn some Anti-Domain techniques. When Sukuna revealed his 99-second domain extension, Yuji countered it using the power of the new Shadow Style and unleashed a simple domain.
This allowed him to block Sukuna's slashes for much longer. However, his domain finally broke. Still, it worked as it kept him from dying and being inundated with slashes from all sides.
Yuji's blood manipulation
Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of the series, gained many powerful abilities in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. There are some abilities that Yuji actually awakened before the Shinjuku Showdown, but of course, we only saw them in this arc. One such ability is blood manipulation.
During the build-up to the Shinjuku Showdown, Yuji consumed Death Paintings 4 through 9, and it essentially granted him the cursed technique of blood manipulation. He used this power in his fight against Sukuna and although his control over it was not perfect at the time, he was still a good user of the technique.
Yuji's Shrine Awakening
Quite easily, the greatest power-up Yuji received during the Shinjuku Showdown arc was the Shrine Cursed Technique. Essentially, after striking the Black Flash against Tsukuna, Yuji gained his greatest power by unlocking his latent abilities and Awakening the Shrine. This cursed technique allows him to use powers like Cleave and Dismantle among many other techniques.
Yuta's Gozo Takeover
When it comes to Yuta Okkotsu, we've seen a number of unlikely power-ups granted that were even temporary in the grand scheme of things. Inevitably, after Yuta falls into a fight with Tsukuna, Rika manages to keep him alive long enough until he switches bodies using Kenzaku's cursed technique, which he had previously copied.
Much to the fans' surprise, Yuta took over Gozo's body using the Body Hopping Cursed Technique. With this, Yuta gained access to this incredible body, which essentially gave him six eyes, as well as unlimited cursed technology, and also allowed him to unleash unlimited void. Due to Kenzaku's technical nature, Limitless was etched into Yuuta's mind, which he presumably took with him when he left Gozo's body.
UG's domain extension
Arguably, Shinjuku Showdown's biggest power-up came at the end, when Yuji Itadori finally learned how to use the domain extension. This technique was definitely not easy for him to use, but he pulled it off flawlessly. Within his domain, Yuji was stronger than anyone else, and his soul-splitting attacks posed a significant threat to Tsukuna.
On top of all that, Yuji Itadori could use Soul Splitting Dismantle, which acted as a sur-hit of the domain and it landed directly on Tsukuna, causing significant damage and weakening her hold on Megumi. Yuji finished the fight with another Black Flash that ended the King of Curses for good. It was the last power-up in the entirety of the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga, and it also ended the battles in the most satisfying way. After Yuji gains more power-ups in the sequel series called Modulo, the original manga observes that his domain is the last skill he learns.
