12 Chocobo

It would be a crime not to talk about what is possibly the greatest Final Fantasy character of all time, the humble chocobo. This is the main premise for the series and you will get access to Final Fantasy 14.
If you were able to unlock the other mounts before the Chocobo, you won't be able to use them until you get your Chocobo through the main story quest. This happens in an area regeneration, so just playing the game will quickly give you your feathered friend.

A comfortable journey
A flying chair is exactly what it sounds like, a comfortable chair in which you can recline comfortably. This can be achieved without much trouble as carpenters are able to craft this mount.
You can make it yourself, but it is much easier to buy it from the market. A flying chair is usually one of the cheapest mounts available, so you should be able to pick it up without breaking the bank.

A consolation prize for a lifetime of treatment
Does riding around Eorzea in the most majestic way tickle your fancy? Then look no further than the unicorn. A functional healer in Final Fantasy 14 is a thankless task, so those dedicated enough to level up to Conjurer Class 30 are rewarded with a sweet unicorn.
The Path to Unicorn Glory is unlocked after completing the side quest Unicorn Power as 30 Conjurers. A unicorn whistle is awarded upon completion of the quest. Using this item calls a unicorn mount and permanently adds it to your mount list. easy
9 Jonathus Achievement Mt
Behemoth, Ahriman, and Magitek Deathclaw
Many new players may miss Jonathas, the NPC that helps you exchange your in-game achievements for rewards. Jonathus can be found in Old Gridnia (X:10.6 Y:6.3).
There, you can exchange achievement certificates for, and are not limited to: Behemoth Warhorn to summon the mighty Behemoth mount; A Magitek Death Claw Identification Key that gives you access to the Death Claw; and the Voidal Resonator to summon your own Ahriman Mount. bus Playing through the main scenario quest will eventually earn enough achievements for all of these.

The market board is an interesting place for those who want to use accessories and other user-sold items. Surprisingly, and with enough gil, mount collectors can find a ton of mounts for sale here. Dhalmel Himal is remarkable.
While marketplace prices vary significantly across servers, we've never heard of it going above two hundred grand. And maybe that sounds like a lot at first, but in time? Not so much.

A fiery dragon for cheap
Completing animal tribe quests is an easy way to build your mount library. A fun one is the Cavalry Drake Mount, which can be purchased for 120,000 gil after reaching Trusted rank with Amalja.
Sure, that might sound like a pile of gil for a single mount, but isn't riding around a literal fire-breathing dragon really worth that much? After all, it breathes fire and moves around. The lizard-like aesthetics for Cavalry Drake mounts can be appreciated by any fan.
6 Bom Palkin Mt
Floating in style
Not a fan of riding the majestic looking drakes? Maybe a bombshell throne is more your style? This mount requires a bit more work but is still pretty straightforward to achieve:
- Find the Kobold Quest Giver in the 789th Order Dig in Outer La Noscea (x21, y18).
- Complete the Highway Robbery quest.
- Reach Trusted Reputation Rank Four.
- Buy the Bomb Palquin mount for 120,000 gil.
After scooping this mount, you'll glide majestically around Eorgia in your very own personal chair pulled by a bomb.
5 Magitek Armor
They fly now
After progressing through Final Fantasy 14's main scenario quest, you'll have the opportunity to own your very own Magitek armor mount to stomp around in exclusively style. Marching through the main scenario quest for a Realm Rebirth and finishing the Ultimate Weapon quest rewards players with this neat mount.
Another notable mention: after obtaining this mount, you will also gain the ability to fly with all mounts; You get your own flying Magitek armor
4 The black chocobo

Another main scenario quest grab, or as we like to call them, the easiest mounts of all, is yours very early in the expansion of Black Chocobo Heaven. Back in the day, it was doubly impressive because it served as an introduction to flight.
That's no longer the case, courtesy of the mid-Shadowbringers' life cycle introduction to ARR, but hey. Still, you can get the Black Chocobo completely free just by playing the game, which isn't too bad.
3 Midgardsormr
How to train your elders
There is no beating around the bush flying behind a dragon. Unlike other mounts that are earned within the main scenario quest, Midgardsormer's honor is earned through your heroics within the story, so the mount feels a bit more worthy than previous story-earned mounts.
Known to all as the Father of Dragons, Midgardsormer finally finds you worthy enough to carry on his back. So, don't pass it up. Because honestly, that would be rude.
2 Claude Mallow
Fluffy joy
You can't waltz through MSQ for it, but Cloud Mallow is still a relatively easy, time-consuming, heck of a good mount for a feat of heroism.
After receiving the Oath, which is a rank seven prestige mark for the Muggle Beast Tribe, you'll have the opportunity to rest your weary toes on Cloud Mallow Mountain and float off into the Eorgia sunset. Cloud Mallow Mount can be summoned from that point after buying Cloud Mallow Seeds from Mogmul Mogbeli for 200,000 gil.
1 Argos

We're now skipping all the way to the Endwalker stage of the main scenario quest, so needless to say, you'll need to play Final Fantasy 14 for a few hundred hours before this adorable and fleeting Golden Retriever can be yours. . But Argos is an instant pickup, your reward for continuing through MSQ. No bells, no whistles, no credit checks required.
You'll also get a taste of what it's like to soar into the sky long before a cute puppy is yours forever, even though you won't be able to direct him at that point. Dogs have a mind of their own, you know.
