Every Bow User in The Game

Key Takeaways

  • Bow characters in Genshin Impact have unique aimed charged shots, offering versatility in DPS and support roles.
  • Some bow users like Diona excel in utility and healing, while others like Yoimiya are strong Pyro DPS with specific team synergies.
  • Characters like Lyney and Sethos offer high damage potential with charged attacks, but require specific setups for optimal performance.

One of the very first characters players get in Genshin Impact is a bow user named Amber, and there is no shortage of other characters using the weapon. In addition to having everything other weapon users have, bow characters also have access to special aimed charged shots, having an extra element in their kit.

We take a look at the age, height, birthday, and background of all Genshin Impact’s playable characters, including the new Natlan residents.

While it may seem like a support class, a good portion of bow users are actually made for DPS while still retaining abilities that could be worked into a support set-up. Some characters are inevitably better than others, so we’ve ranked every Genshin character that uses a bow!

16 Amber

Amber is a free-to-play Pyro user that every player will get at the beginning of the game. She is excellent to use when exploring and has the ability to help the player easily solve Pyro puzzles. With that being said, she is one of the weakest characters in the game.

Her elemental skill sends out Barron Bunny, who dances to distract enemies before exploding. The skill can serve as crowd control, but the actual effect and the damage are both negligible. Her Elemental Burst, Fiery Rain, rains down a flurry of flaming arrows. While the damage here is weak as well, it’s an excellent way to burst down elemental shields, particularly ones belonging to those pesky Abyss Mages and Heralds.

15 Sigewinne

Sigewinne is a lovable melusine nurse that wants to ensure everyone’s health and safety, and that’s exactly what she does in the game. Her entire kit’s based around healing and little else, essentially being a Hydro Qiqi. Her Ascension Passive does allow her to buff the Elemental Skill damage of your characters a significant amount, but the limited amount of triggers makes it weaker than buffs provided by other characters.

Sigewinne’s Elemental Skill summons a bubble that bounces between enemies. This is her main source of healing for her team, and can be held to increase the bounces, as well as the damage. Her Elemental Burst, on the other hand, is a damaging skill similar to Neuvilette’s special charged attack, but is useless for the most part, except if you have C6 Sigewinne.

14 Diona

This adorable cat hates alcohol more than anything. Yet, she works as a genius bartender and uses her concoctions in battle. She’s an excellent shield character who heals and applies Cryo during her Elemental Burst. While her shield strength and damage might not be the best, her utility makes her a good flex pick for any team.

Genshin Impact: Every Shield User In The Game

Genshin Impact features all sorts of fighters for you to use during the course of the game, and here’s a look at every shield user you can find.

Her Elemental Skill sends out two flying ice paws that deal damage on impact and grant a shield to your active character. If held, the shield’s strength and duration, as well as the damage of the paws is increased. Her Elemental Burst, Signature Mix, creates a zone much like Bennett’s where allies are healed and enemies are afflicted with Cryo. If you have C6 Diona, she also provides her team with a huge Elemental Mastery buff, increasing her use as a support further.

13 Yoimiya

Yoimiya adores all things fiery, with a special interest in her family’s choice of business, fireworks. She’s an incredibly cheery girl with a heart of gold, even hiding civilians inside her shop during the events in Inazuma. She’s a Pyro DPS that excels in single target DPS when paired with Hydro applicators such as Xingqiu or Yelan.

Using a shield character can greatly increase Yoimiya’s potential. If you use C6 Thoma with her, she also gets a buff to her normal attack damage.

While she can certainly output enough damage under the right circumstances, Yoimiya is an extremely fragile character to play. Most of her damage is hidden behind specific hits in her normal attack combo, making it a necessity to Vape them for damage. This, however, can be quite difficult at times, especially when you reset your combo by dodging attacks, or when you switch to another enemy.

12 Sara

Sara is a four-star electro character and the right-hand woman of the Raiden Shogun. Despite her cold demeanor, she seems to care deeply for the people of Inazuma, as can be seen during the Prison domain when she allows the Traveler and Yoimiya to rescue the prisoner and leave without a fight. She is a support character specializing in buffing the Attack stat, though to a much lesser extent than Bennett.

Her Elemental Skill, Tengu Stormcall, lets Sara buff allies when she shoots a fully aimed charged shot. However, the same effect is gained when you use her Elemental Burst, taking away the need to spend time charging up a shot. While she may seem like a worse Bennett, Kujou Sara’s Constellation Six grants her allies a huge 60 percent bonus to Electro Crit Damage, making her one of the best choices for Electro Hypercarries such as Raiden.

11 Gorou

Despite serving under the priestess Sangonomiya Kokomi, Gorou’s kit is made specifically to buff up Itto, another Inazuman character. He may fill a niche role, but he does a superb job at doing so, buffing the Def stat and Geo damage of his allies using his elemental skill. If you plan on making any team with Itto or Noelle in it, having Gorou becomes a must.

Every Geo Character In Genshin Impact, Ranked

Geo might be one of the least reactive elements in Genshin Impact, but some characters from this element can still give you good value.

However, apart from these specific teams, Gorou doesn’t see any use whatsoever. Furthermore, while his Ultimate is supposed to be a damaging ability that also helps you trigger more crystalize reactions, Gorou’s lack of personal damage and his teams not being good at applying Elements for Crystalize take away both of these benefits.

10 Tartaglia / Childe

Tartaglia, or Childe, is the eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers and the boss of Liyue’s story chapter. Unlike his boss fight, he only has a Hydro vision, not the Electro delusion that he uses to transform. He’s one of Genshin Impact’s more unique characters despite being released fairly early on, having two separate stances.

His passive marks enemies hit with a charged shot with a Riptide status effect which deals damage when certain conditions are met, such as the enemy dying or Childe releasing another aimed shot at them. His Elemental Skill changes his stance into a melee one, letting him wield dual Hydro blades that trigger riptide on each hit.

He has a strong Elemental Burst as well, serving as a form of Burst damage that changes effects depending on what stance he’s in. Overall, despite Childe himself being an amazing character, his lack of viable team options stops us from putting him any further.

9 Sethos

Sethos has one of the most interesting kits in Genshin Impact despite being a four-star character. He’s an on-field hypercarry DPS that can work as either a charged attack spammer dealing burst, front-loaded damage, or he can utilize his Elemental Burst to become an Electro Yoimiya.

One of Sethos’s greatest qualities is that building him is very easy. His best weapon is a three-star bow, and all his best artifact sets are easy to get, such as Wanderer’s Troupe and Gilded Dreams.

His charged attacks have a second level that deals extremely high damage, up to 700 percent of his Elemental Mastery when paired with his Ascension Passive. While the charge time is absurdly long, Sethos’s other passive allows him to charge these up instantly by using up Energy. You can also play him a completely different way by using his Elemental Burst, which gives his normal attacks an Electro Fusion and a damage buff based on his EM as well.

8 Lyney

Every Fontainian’s favorite magician, Lyney comes to Teyvat with a plethora of tricks hidden under his sleeve. His fully aimed shots summon the adorable Grin-Malking Hat. These taunt enemies and deal damage after a certain duration. Lyney can also use his Elemental Skill to make these explode prematurely, dealing higher damage.

Every Pyro Character In Genshin Impact, Ranked

Pyro is one of the most populated elements in Genshin Impact, and here are the characters from this element that give you the most value.

Lyney deals a large amount of damage, and his teams consisting only of Pyro characters makes it so that you don’t have to worry about Elemental Reactions. However, since he needs enemies to be afflicted with Pyro at all times to deal his full damage, this greatly hinders his versatility. Furthermore, his main source of damage comes from his charged shots, something that can be easily interrupted if you don’t have a shielder. Lyney can also be quite fickle at times, since his passive requires him to drop to 60 percent HP to deal full damage, further encouraging you to play a shield character.

7 Collei

Collei’s a very underrated Dendro unit, largely due to her being released alongside Dendro Traveller, another great Dendro character who was also the first Traveller that could compete with other characters. She provides burst Dendro application, making her perfect for Nilou teams, and her being a bow user means she can equip the sacrificial bow to spam her Elemental Skill.

However, in most teams, Collei is not enough to keep up with the team’s Dendro needs. She performs best when paired with another source of consistent Dendro, such as the Dendro Traveller, making her a lot less versatile than other characters with the Dendro vision.

6 Tighnari

Speaking of Dendro characters, Tighnari is another often overlooked Dendro DPS that can output tons of frontloaded damage, making him one of the stronger units for time-based challenges. Alhaitham outperforms Tighnari quite severely in longer rotations, but Tighnari can be better in shorter time slots.

He’s a charged attack user, much like Ganyu. However, instead of having to wait for his arrows to charge, using his Elemental Skill can make him charge the next few shots instantly. This burst damage and short field time requirement makes him a capable DPS unit in many quickswap aggravate teams, but he fails to see use anywhere else.

5 Venti

If Venti’s crowd control can be used on an enemy, Venti is the single best character in the game. However, even on bosses and larger enemies that don’t get pulled by his Elemental Burst, he’s still a more than viable choice because of how much utility he provides.

Venti being Anemo means he can make use of the Viridiscent Venerer set. However, since the set doesn’t work from off-field, it’s important you Swirld the right element using your Elemental Skill.

Venti’s Skill summons a gust of wind that deals damage. Holding it summons a larger burst of air that can be ridden using your wind glider, making Venti good for exploration. Both the tap and hold versions of this skill also summon Energy Particles for any element the enemy is afflicted with, lowering his team’s Energy requirements.

The most important part of Venti’s kit would be his Ultimate, Wind’s Grand Ode, a large Stormeye that pulls in enemies to its center. This is the single strongest grouping skill in the game, making dealing with hordes of enemy very easy. Even if the skill doesn’t work, though, it still deals a significant amount of damage due to how it absorbs elements, and then swirls them repeatedly on enemies hit.

4 Faruzan

Faruzan is a dedicated support for Anemo DPS characters like Xiao and Wanderer. Her Elemental Skill deals damage and lets her perform a special charged shot that grants her Energy if you have certain constellations. Her Elemental Burst, Lost Wisdom of the Seven Caverns, creates a field where allies gain bonus Anemo damage, and enemy Anemo resistance is reduced.

Some of the best supports in Genshin Impact belong to the Anemo element, and here are the best ones you should build in your account.

She’s one of the best supports in the game, but she’s heavily locked behind her constellations. It can be taxing to play her without her C2, which increases the duration of her Burst, and C4, which helps with her Energy requirements. Even then, she only becomes better than general supports like Bennet with her C6, granting her team a huge bonus to their Anemo crit damage.

3 Ganyu

Ganyu is a five-star cryo character who comes from Liyue. Her charged attack has a second level that creates a cryo AoE attack when it hits. Her elemental skill has Ganyu dash backward and summons a cryo blossom that attracts enemies’ attention before exploding, dealing Cryo damage, and her Elemental Burst creates a large Cryo field where enemies take consistent Cryo damage.

Melt Ganyu, while dealing more damage than her Freeze counterpart, can be easily interrupted while charging her level two charged shots. It’s best you add a shielder like Zhongli or Baizhu to counter this.

Despite her falling in popularity in recent years, Ganyu remains one of the premium charged attack DPS characters. Her level two charged attack hits like a truck, and her kit works amazingly with a Freeze team. Where most Freeze carries struggle against bosses, Ganyu can also be built as a Melt carry, dealing even more damage at the cost of the comfort of freeze teams.

2 Fischl

Fischl is an electro character who speaks in a fantasy language that her bird, Oz, must translate. Fischl is regarded as a top-tier support Sub-DPS and is perfect for triggering elemental reactions. Her Elemental Skill summons Oz into battle, who stays on the field and deals Electro damage to nearby enemies, and her Burst can be used to increase the duration of Oz.

What makes Fischl compete with and even be better than most five-star supports is because of how reactions work. Her Ascension Passive and her C6 both let Oz perform separate Electro attacks depending on certain conditions. This lets Fischl deal absurd levels of damage while also driving reactions such as Aggravate or Electrocharged. Fischl is also one of the best batteries in the game, providing Energy Particles and helping your team use their Elemental Bursts more often.

1 Yelan

Xingqiu is one of the best four-star supports in the game, providing your team with consistent off-field Hydro damage and Yelan can be considered a five-star version of Xingqiu, doing away with his utilities and instead focusing fully on damage.

Yelan’s Elemental Skill has her speed up and mark enemies she passes through. When it ends, she deals a huge amount of damage to all marked enemies. Her Elemental Burst, like Xingqiu, lets her do coordinated attacks from off-field whenever the active character uses their normal attacks. Yelan also grants the active character a huge damage bonus during her Burst’s duration, making her just as good of a buffer as she is an off-field DPS.
