This article contains spoilers from the Shinjuku Showdown arc of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Key takeaways

  • The Shrine Cursed Technique in JJK is related to Sukuna, which grants powerful abilities such as Disintegration, Cleave, Divine Flames and more.
  • Yuji becomes a powerful user of the Shrine in JJK's Shinjuku Showdown arc, revealing a unique version within his domain expansion.
  • Yuta and Megumi also use the Shrine Technique on JJK, demonstrating impressive skills, but Tsukuna remains the strongest user.

The shrine, also known as Mizushi, is one of the strongest curse techniques fans have ever seen. JJK. This technique is none other than Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses. Fans know this technique to be powerful enough to slice and dice everything in its path. The temple is as complicated as it looks. It is essentially a kitchen for the user to use, where they can use sharp knives to destroy targets in one hit, and a cleave to tear apart their enemies on contact, with the ability to cut depending on its strength and the amount of energy used.

Sukuna was the strongest villain in JJK. It took an army of powerful characters to bring him down.

The shrine also gives users access to a furnace, where they can cook their opponents with thermobaric blasts. Obviously, Shrine is a powerful ability, and it definitely has more than one user JJK.

4 Ryomen Sukuna

The King of Curses

The best user of the shrine the fans have ever seen JJK It is very easy to relax. Sukuna was the original user of the Shrine, and fans saw him use the technique on several occasions. Sukuna can cut her enemies with Dismantle or use Cleave to cut her enemies according to their hardness and cursed energy.

Sakuna can also access Divine Flames using both Cleave and Dismantle, and burn her target to death. His domain extension, called the Malevolent Shrine, is the pinnacle of his technology and can dismember all of his enemies. Apparently, there is hardly anyone in JJK's world who can withstand his powerful blows. Even if they do, Sukuna's strongest ability, namely, World Cutting Dismantle, is incredibly difficult for anyone to survive.

3 Yuji Itadori

Sukuna's original vessel

Yuji Itadori is another powerful user of the Shrine Curse technique. Being the vessel of Sukuna for so long, Yuji was able to use the Shrine. In fact, Sukuna used the shrine on Yuji's body several times. If that wasn't enough, Yuji himself ended up raising the shrine in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. Her version of the Shrine was slightly different and safer than Sukuna's, and fans saw her using it with ease.

Yuji was able to combine the power of his cutting abilities, such as Dismantle, with blows that damaged his soul. Essentially, Yuji was able to initiate a dismantling and cleave into his opponent's soul, making him incredibly dangerous. Fans also saw Yuji reveal the powerful domain extension of the Shrine Cursed Technique. His fixed hit attack within the domain was a powerful Soul Dismantle, which dealt terrible damage to even the King of Curses Yeman Sukuna. Yuji is the reigning user of Shine and of course the strongest person alive at the end of the story.

2 Yuta Okkotsu

A prodigy magician with the ability to copy curses

Unbeknownst to most people, Yuta is also a powerful user of the Shrine Cursed Technique. Yuta gained access to the shrine in the Shinjuku Showdown arc. After consuming Yuuji's finger, Yuta used Cleave, which allowed him to cut Tsukuna with a powerful bunch of slashes. This happened within his own domain extension, where he could use his copied techniques as many times as he wanted, provided he picked up the right sword.

Of course, Yuta was a skilled user of the shrine, but his skills couldn't even be compared to Tsukuna or Yuji. It remains to be seen if Yuta can use stronger techniques like Dismantle, World Splitting Dismantle or abilities like Divine Flame. But, at the very least, fans know that Yuta had access to this powerful technique until Yuji healed his finger. It remains unknown if Yuuta can still use this technique, at least within his domain, or if he has lost access to it now that Yuu has definitively healed his finger.

1 Megumi Fushiguro

Second Vessel of Sukuna

Megumi is another character with access to the Fushiguro Shrine, though possibly for a limited time. Of course, this access is from Sukuna inside Megumi's body. Once Sukuna subdues Megum, he uses the shrine through her. In fact, World Cutting Dismantle was invented in Megumi's body. Even though Megumi does not control her body, it can, in a way, be seen as her using the shrine.

After the death of the King of Curses, Megumi was free, meaning she could no longer use the temple. However, it remains to be seen if he can actually access the shrine like Yuji did. Megumi saw the shrine being used and saw her body being used more extensively than Yuji's. If Yuji could learn this technique by keeping Sukuna in his body, so could Megumi. Anyway, fans know that at the very least, Megumi used the shrine while Tsukuna was controlling her body.
