The best weapon rolls to grind during Destiny 2: Festival of the Lost

The Celebration of the Lost event in Destiny 2 lets players grind out some pretty cool weapon rolls. Here's what to watch out for when killing the Headless.

Multimach CCX

  • Polygonal Rifling + Tactical Mag + Attrition Orbs + Kinetic Tremor + Masterwork Reload

Multimach isn't exactly known as a PvE weapon, but the Attrition Orbs + Kinetic Tremors roll is really good against AI fighters. Imagine having a 900 RPM SMG that can fuel abilities, trigger an Orb of Power effects, and deal AoE damage. Sure, guns like the Immortal and Ikelos SMG have good class synergy, but multimach with this perk combo is also great for most builds.

Attrition Orbs can help restore ability energy and trigger effects that require Orbs of Power. Meanwhile, Kinetic Tremors can deal additional damage to targets, and can also trigger Attrition Orbs. Note that attrition orbs have an internal cooldown, so don't expect to swim in orbs just because Kinetic Tremors are going off.

the rose

  • Fluted Barrel + Accurized Round + Slideshot + Explosive Payload + Smooth Grip + Handling Masterwork

Players who are struggling to get inside the rose Fate 2 Want to catch this one. Slideshot and Explosive Payload are top-tier PvP perks, and they're not bad in PvE either. It's an incredibly well-rounded roll, and while it could use a different barrel and masterwork, it's a very nice gun for handcannon fans.

Slideshot partially refills the weapon's magazine and provides its next shot bonus range and stability after sliding. The latter two bonuses are especially useful in the Crucible, where the winner of a duel is often determined by who hits the first shot. Meanwhile, the explosive payload negates damage fall for a fraction of the weapon's per-shot damage, and it makes enemy guardians flinch harder than usual. It also deals weapon engagement bonus damage against fighters in PvE.

Destiny 2: 10 Best Stasis Weapons

Stasis weapons in Destiny 2 are surprisingly powerful and versatile. Here's which Stasis weapons players should add to their collection.

owe mercy

A kind sidearm owed to Destiny 2

  • Smart Drift Control + Tactical Mag + Loose Shift + Voltshot + Velocity Masterwork

Voltshot alone is enough to turn any indebted mercy drop into a god roll, but when paired with Loose Change, this weapon reaches a whole different level. Jolt counts as an initial debuff, and since players apply it to every enemy they hit with a volteshot, the loose change will give Owed Kindness vastly improved reload speed, aim assist, and movement speed while still aiming almost all the time.

Voltshot is an on-kill perk similar to Kill Clip. After the volteshot weapon defeats the target, the next shot will apply a jolt to the targets. Meanwhile, Loose Change grants all of the aforementioned stats to the weapon when players defeat enemies affected by elemental debuffs.

Compass rose

2023 version of Compass Rose in Destiny 2

  • Corkscrew Rifling + Light Mag + Snapshot Sights + Slideshot + Handling Masterwork

The Compass Rose is one of the best shotguns out there Fate 2 Thanks to its high base range and Aim Assist stats. It's usually bogged down by its below-average handling, but with the features listed above, this should be a non-issue. Especially the snapshot + slideshot combo makes this weapon an absolute threat in PvP.

Snapshot sights greatly improve the weapons' ADS speed, and while aiming down sights isn't too tight to spread the bullet, it can still help shotguns feel more consistent, especially when combined with slideshot and its range boost.

From VS Chill Inhibitor to Edge Transit, there are countless top-notch damage weapon options to utilize.

hothead (master)

Efficient hothead farm

  • Hard Launch + Impact Cover + Tracking Module + Joker Cartridge + Reload Masterwork

Hothead is popular for its high DPS potential, and since this roll doesn't result in huge damage numbers, players can expect it to be very easy to use, especially against bosses that refuse to stand still. The tracking module is an amazing perk for rocket launchers, and while the clown cartridge won't increase damage output, it will greatly improve DPS by letting players fire more rockets before reloading.

The sugar on top of this god roll is that it's an adept hothead, meaning players can stick an Adept Reload mod here to crank the weapon's DPS even higher. Make sure to bring some reserve mods to get more ammo.

VS chill blocker

Destiny 2 VS Chill Inhibitor Grenade Launcher from Vesper's Host

VS Chill Inhibitor is one of the new weapons Destiny 2 Vesper's host dungeon, and it's one of the best guns to farm for there. This is due to the Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch perk combo – both trigger when players hit enemies using their other weapons, turning this Heavy Grenade Launcher into an absolute beast when it comes to dealing sustained damage.

Envy Arsenal fully refills a weapon's magazine, while bats and switches increase gun damage. Unload the entire Chill Inhibitor mag on the enemy before tagging in with other weapons. Swap it back, and it will be loaded fresh with a damage buff to boot. Repeat the process until all ammo is spent, or the target is defeated.
