World of Warcraft: War Within – 9 Best Things to Do First

Confused about where to start? Here's how to jump right into the battle.

When the main story ends, the amount of things on offer can be overwhelming. The entire expansion is now open to you, and it can be difficult to choose. Fortunately, there are some fun things to do right away. These are some of the best things to do after finishing the battle inside.

10

Set up flight paths

Soar through the sky

If you haven't already, now is a good time to set up all the flight paths in Khaj Elgar. All flight paths are unlocked for all characters, so pop in to talk to the flight master and unlock them. While Skyriding is enabled in Khaz Algar, sometimes a player wants to use a good old fashioned Flight Master while eating lunch or fighting a child.

Many of these paths will unlock through the main story, but grab those last few stragglers to make things easier for yourself in the future. You'll thank us eventually.

9

Take flying glyphs

All must be collected

During the main story, players may have seen (and even caught) some floating glyphs scattered across Khaz Elgar. These glyphs are hidden objects that can be flown through to grab. Unlike in Dragonflight, there is no benefit to collecting all the Glyphs – that is, it does not unlock additional flight abilities. However, this will unlock a new mount!

The Swarmite Skyhunter will be added to the account of anyone who holds all Glyphs. Furthermore, collecting all the glyphs will unlock five achievements – and everyone loves earning achievements, right?

8

Unlock some achievements

Spiders, and cats, and graves, oh my

As seriously as players take it, World of Warcraft is kind of a silly place. There are tons of silly little easter eggs and achievements that take almost no time to unlock but are a lot of fun to do. There are many of these within the war.

World of Warcraft: War Within – How to get to Khaj Elgar

Explore the hidden realms of Azeroth, including the island of Khaz Algar. Here are the quests you need to complete to get there.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider achievement requires players to wave at the many weaving rats scattered across Azj-Kahet. The other, The Missing Lynx, is an achievement in which players tame all the warlynx in Hallowfall. More serious, Rock to Sleep, asks players to recite some Marthene plaques at the final shutdown. Not all achievements in Warcraft are hard to get, and these are just some quick and fun little achievements dedicated to exploration.

7

Hunting Special Encounters

Find the odd one out

An Orc hunter kills in Azj-Kahet in a special encounter.

Some of the animals you'll find roaming Khaj Elgar may be a little more dangerous than others. These elite creatures, marked by special tokens on the map, are special encounters. They kill them and reward them with more loot, and some even leave reputations with different factions. Furthermore, if you kill these special encounters in different areas, you can unlock achievements. Who doesn't like achievement?

These encounters are very easy to find – just wander around the world looking for tokens on the map – and once the character reaches max level they are very easy to kill.

6

Preparation for the final game content

You're not ready

Queen Ansurek from World of Warcraft.

For players wanting to do endgame content, there's no better time to raid and prepare for Mythic+… than in the endgame. Raids and Mythic+ are open to every player, of course, but the more difficult versions take some preparation. Players need proper gear, cut from heroic dungeons, and they need supplies to upgrade that gear. And then there are all the enchantments and flasks and buffs that are needed to play optimally…endgame is the only place where players will have TIME to prepare.

The end game content isn't absolutely mandatory, and there are plenty of happy players who haven't set foot in the more difficult content. But for those who enjoy it, finishing the main story is the signal to start preparing.

5

Max out businesses

Money is money, should be funny, in a rich evil world

Professions are basically a game within themselves. Anyone who has played the ruthless game of an auction house knows that having the right profession is everything in the goldsmithing business. Finishing the main story is the perfect moment to start grinding the new recipes needed to enhance the experience.

The War Within introduced a lot of new things to make, so everyone will be very busy. From new explosive ores to new tinctures and potions, War Within Professions has something for everyone. Go make something of yourself and get a job in World of Warcraft – your gold will thank you.

4

Level one optional

Just start

A mud hunter stands in the middle of a haunted silverpine forest, with a rock goat at his side.

Well, it's a little silly to suggest leveling up a new character when you're just done with the old one. But leveling alts within the battle is made a breeze. A new experience bonus will be added for each max-level character. For example, one character gives a 5 percent bonus, two characters give a 10 percent bonus, and so on.

Each alt level makes the next alt level faster, which means more options to play with. If you're at all curious about how war plays out within a class, try yourself with this new level system.

3

Try Delves

Delve into Delves

A delve into the world of Warcraft

Delves were introduced in The War Windin, and they quickly became a popular part of the expansion. Delves are short adventures that can be done solo or with a handful of friends. They have scaling difficulty for all types of adventurers and reward vault tools to complete every week.

Delves are a great addition to the game and work especially well for single players. While Delves are available from the start of the battle within, some will be easier at max level. Take a spin to check out some of these, and get ready to dive into a world of fun.

2

Unlock all side stories

Reading is fun

Priory of the Sacred Flame from World of Warcraft. A church is surrounded by light.

There are more stories within the war than in the main story. In these areas, there are many side stories, such as the story of a caretaker who is ready to move on, a mysterious group of druids deep in enemy territory, the power of corrupt beliefs, a healer trying his best, and especially. Interesting Nerubian wedding night.
