As you may have noticed paralivesParafolk go through different emotions and needs throughout the day. Compared to siblings or other family members, they have their own life goals, and they form relationships in their own way. This all comes from personality traits set during character creation, such as Vibes, Talents, and Social Perks.
The good news is that you can develop your character's personality into something more rewarding later in the game, helping them become more talented, skilled and better at managing their lives. For those wondering, here's how to upgrade your Parafolk's personality paralives.

Paralives Cleaning Guide (How to Clean Your Home)
Wondering how to clean dirty bathtubs, toilets, sinks, and moldy walls in your Parafolk home at Paralives? Here's how to do it!
How to upgrade personality in Paralives
Level up your Parafolk's personality traits paralivesYou need to collect personality experience points, which you get by doing these things:
- Fulfill daily wishes
- Include long-term life goals.
Each successful achievement gives you x1 personality point, which goes into the progress pool.
In the beginning, you need 30 of these experience points once you level up (meaning you must complete a total of 30 desires and life goals).
Once you get there, a big “personality level up” notice pops up, as do other skill upgrades.
Next, players can:
- Go to profile icon
- Select the level up button
- Choose which aspect of a character's aura, social perk, or talent to improve
At each level, one part of the parafolk's personality can be upgraded. For example, if fitness is your main talent, upgrade options might include:
-
No sweating (exercise does not reduce hygiene requirements)
-
Happy Exerciser (+2 happy to exercise)
-
Sweat it out! (Every hour of exercise has a 33% chance to remove a random negative emotional response below level 3)
Players can choose only one of the given choices. Once done, they can grind for the next level and unlock different attributes.
How to get and fulfill desires in Paralives
Unlike real life, the game treats Parafolk wishes as temporary wishes or tasks that must be completed before the day ends. Otherwise, they are reset, unless pinned.
To acquire new desires paralivesSelect the emotion cards marked with a response icon (exclamation mark), then choose one of the available wishes for the day.
Players can make up to four wishes at a time. Once Mercury feels the urge for something, take the necessary action to fulfill it. This could include improving dance skills, watching two hours of TV, or interacting or flirting with someone.
How to Achieve and Accomplish Life Goals in Paralives
Your cities also gain long-term goals that can last for any length of time, unlike desires, which are short-lived. Life goals are mainly given through the narrator system. Every morning, your Mercury is presented with three story cards (or packs that can also provide stat boosts in areas like work and relationships).
This may include a life goal pack, which pops up randomly. When selected, Mercury gains a set of new goal options, such as owning a large home or starting a family.
After you've chosen one, you can simply hop into the target section (and pin it if you want), then continue to complete its associated tasks. More precisely, a life goal can consist of many small tasks that keep the player busy. For example, a life goal related to owning a large house might include two challenges: a house worth 40,000 Paradigms and decorative items worth 1,000 Paradigms.
