8 Best Bleach Characters Who Never Fight
While Bleach is primarily known for its jaw-dropping fight scenes, these characters stand out from the pack despite never engaging in battle.

1 Kyoraku Shunsui
Suigetsu's unhinged personality makes him a handsome combat fighter
- First appearance: Episode 24
In the beginning Bleach In the story, Kyoraku is presented as a strong, but ultimately, very concerned member of the Gotei 13. When fans first see Kyoraku after running into Chad, the captain is lying on the floor, his loneliness all drinking, and even. Offers a drink to an enemy standing in front of him.
When Chad refuses and begins to launch a barrage of attacks instead of jumping into action, Kyoraku surprises everyone like child's play, sitting down. He comes to take on more responsibility as the story progresses, but even when faced with deadly threats like Coyote Stark, Kyoraku's laziness gets the best of him at the worst of times.
2 Yukio Hans Vorarlburna
Yukio can almost always be seen lounging around his handheld console
- First appearance: Episode 343
It might be easy to forget that Yukio is a member of the Fullbringers considering that he likes to hide and play his handheld console. When the Fullbringers have something serious to attend to, such as when they are tasked with training Ichigo, Riruka has to be the one to push Yukio to pitch in, which he only begrudgingly does.

Bleach: The 7 Biggest Betrayals in the Series, Ranked
These betrayals in the Bleach anime and manga provided some of the biggest plot twists in the series.
As a result, this guy gets no screen time at all because it's implied that, whenever he doesn't need it right away, he's engaged in an intense gaming session. Despite being called back for the final arc, Yukio is still rarely seen off screen. One thing is for sure, though, whatever game he's playing, it must be a long time before he's still that deep into it.
3 Graeme Thoumeaux
Gremmy's imaginative power means he doesn't need to move a muscle in combat
- First appearance: TYBW Episode 15
Since Grammy's ability, The Visionary, allows him to draw anything he can imagine into reality, he doesn't need to move a muscle when facing off against an enemy, making him a lazy fighter. A prime example of this on display can be seen in Gremmy's duel with Squad 11's bloodthirsty captain Zaraki Kenpachi.
While Kenpachi throws everything he has at Gremmy and is even forced to take out his Bankai, which takes a huge hit to his body, Gremmy stands in the same position for almost the entire fight. He managed to call down the meteor simply by imagining it existed. Luckily, Gremmy was given this unique power because his lazy personality would definitely not be compatible with any kind of sword fighting.
4 Coyote Stark
The No. 1 Espada would rather rest and watch the world go by than fight
- First appearance: Episode 138
It's ironic that, out of all of Aizen's Espada, Starrk is the one who takes the number 1 spot in terms of power level, as he's also the most relaxed and laziest of the group. When Stark is forced to go against Kyoraku during the Fake Karakura Town arc, he seems less than concerned about the captain standing before him and constantly tells Kyoraku that he wants to avoid fighting if he can.
The truth is, Stark has such an incredible amount of spiritual pressure, it means any Hollow that gets close to him will be killed, forcing him into isolation as a young man. As a result, Stark, despite being one of Aizen's strongest subordinates, is used to lazing around and watching the world go by.
5 Marechiyo Omaeda
Omaeda's lazy personality often conflicts with his serious and stoic captain
- First appearance: Episode 30
Although Omeda begins to pull his weight a bit later in the series, for the first few arcs, he is portrayed as a burden on his captain Soi Fon due to his lazy nature and obsession with potato chips. Unlike his stoic captain who is always deadly serious and focused on the mission at hand, Omaeda is a very carefree soul who takes a relaxed approach to the events happening around him.

That's not to say he won't step up when needed, but as Soi Fon knows all too well, trying to push this guy to do his duty is no easy task. Thankfully, Kubo shows Omeda in a much better light during the Thousand Years of Blood War, but then again, it's hard to be so oblivious when the Quincy's army arrives at your doorstep.
6 Giselle Gavel
Who needs to try when a zombie army can do everything for you?
- First appearance: TYBW Episode 15
Giselle's ability, Zombie, allows her to resurrect her friends and enemies to become members of her personal zombified army. As a result, Giselle doesn't actually need to do any of the fighting herself, instead throwing mindless corpses at her enemies, and then eating their flesh afterwards if they're injured, as she was shown doing with her undead. “Friend” Bambietta.
While Giselle is also able to dismember without feeling a thing, it means she doesn't need to put so much effort into her fights, letting her zombies get their hands dirty in her place. This casual and laid-back personality has helped make Giselle a lovable, though still very intimidating, member of the Sternritter category.
7 Rangiku Matsumoto
Every day in the soul society is a lazy day for Rangiku
- First appearance: Episode 30
throughout the story BleachThere are several scenes in which each of the Soul Reapers shows what happens on their day off. For some, like Renji or Hitsugaya, this involves training with their Zanpakutō, while for Byakuya, it means filling out paperwork. As for Rangiku, although she has essential responsibilities, she is often seen plastered on the fence with whoever she can persuade to join her.
He is also sometimes shown teasing his captain Hitsugaya for being too “hardworking”, which often ends in the two fighting each other. Rangiku is another soul reaper who is willing to show what she's made of when the situation calls for it, though she'd rather enjoy a hot shower or a few rounds of sake.
8 Don't ask
It takes a lot to ask to actually start trying when engaging in a fight
- First appearance: TYBW Episode 17
Askin may be a high-ranking member of the Schutzstaffel, but that doesn't mean he always tries his hardest in battle. In fact, Askin tends to run away from any confrontation that looks like he needs to expend at least a little bit of energy, as it seems when he gets away from Grimmjow, the only time he can find a nice, quiet place where he can do it. Enjoy a cup of coffee.
Later in the Thousand Years of Blood War, Yoruichi also notes that Askin is purposefully holding back his power and toying with his prey. If his picnic baskets and coffee machines are anything to go by, Askin prefers to sit around and enjoy some fun snacks, which he does for the first half of the final arc.
