We don't officially know what the next Pokemon Lego sets will look like. We do know officially that one of them will be a buildable Pokemon card, however, Lego is holding a contest where fans can design the set themselves, and Lego recently narrowed the field down to five finalists.
Lego launched its Pokemon TCG challenge with Lego Ideas, a platform where anyone can submit potential builds and, if they get enough support, they could one day become actual sets. The build phase of the challenge is now over, and these are the five sets that LEGO's review board has taken down.
Lego's Build Your Card Pokemon TCG Challenge: The Finalists
There are five Pokemon to harvest Joltik, Gyarados, Arceus, Mew, and Rowlet. The options were limited because Lego gave fans a list of 30 Pokemon to work with. The creators were restricted to only featuring one Pokemon per set, so if you're struggling to decide there's no need to try to squeeze in two or more favorites.
Other criteria include requiring the design to be a complete art card and not copying any pre-existing card artwork. It would have been very tempting to turn one of your favorite cards into a Lego set, but that wasn't allowed. The TCG set needs to be completely original. If it hadn't, it wouldn't have been considered.
You have until June 11 to vote for your favorite
Now with only five designs left, it's up to you to decide which one of them will become a real Lego set. Voting is now open, and You have until June 11, 2026 to decide which is your favorite and cast your vote.. There is no way to know which set received the most votes. It will be a while until we find out the winner, ie The winning set will not be revealed until February 4, 2027.
There's one way to find out which set is doing the best in the votes so far, though, and that's by checking which one gets the most comments. If the comments are anything to go by, Gyarados: Sunset Splash is by far the most popular. It's a great looking card and, like it or not, it arguably is the most voted Pokemon since the original 151.
The Joltik Charges Up and – my personal favorite – The Mythical Arceus sets have 200 comments, while the Rowlet Razor Leaf and Mew Soaring High sets have the least. Again, comments aren't the official metric by which Lego will determine the winner, but they're the best way to gauge who might win until Lego tallies up the votes and reveals the winning build in 2027.
