PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “avoid a cycle of reprisals” in the Middle East, his office said, as fears of a regional war grow. After earlier telling his Iranian counterpart to “avoid a cycle of retaliation that threatens the region's population and stability,” Macron urged Netanyahu to adopt the same logic in a telephone call, the French president said in a statement.
