As the world gasps for Nintendo to tell us something about the Switch 2, it's hit us with all sorts of weird, and sometimes awesome, things to try and confuse us. One of those things was Alarmo, a Nintendo-made alarm clock that plays sounds and animations from some of the biggest Switch games, and as promised, Nintendo's clock is getting more content.
Alarm's 2.0.0 update, the first major patch the watch has received since launch, went live this morning. This means if you have an alarm connected to Wifi and linked to your Nintendo Account, the update should be live now. The update added a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe theme to the watch options, which considering how many tens of millions the game has sold, it wasn't there to begin with.

Nintendo Alarm Review: Link is watching me sleep and I love it
I spent last week with Nintendo's fancy new watch, and now I want to tell you all about it.
In keeping with the five themes available in Alarm from launch, the New Mario Kart option has seven sub-themes to choose from, each of which draws music and sound effects from a different track in the game. All of the tracks chosen will be recognizable to Mario Kart fans while all have distinct music and sounds that will distinguish them from each other. A full list of options can be found below.

More general details of Alarmo's new Mario Kart theme include a clock that makes a track selection sound when you choose a theme, and toad mechanics that work in the cart as a clock sleep animation. What happens is when your alarm goes off, the music of the track you choose will play and the sounds will play as the racers perform moves that the watch will pick up on your movement. Watch Idle Animation Mario is in his cart and will drive back and forth as he tracks you moving.
Although some rolled their eyes at the thought of an alarm, it became clear very quickly that there was a market for the watch, and a big one. Alarmo is so sought-after in Japan that Nintendo canceled plans to put the item on sale in January. Although the watch sold out pretty quickly in the US, you can pre-purchase it next month via Nintendo before new stock arrives via the link in the box below.

Nintendo sound clock alarm
Nintendo's Alarm is an alarm clock that tracks your movements while you sleep. You can choose from five games from which the clock will play music and sound effects, with each game having seven scenes. If you don't get out of bed, the alarm will sound louder, and then automatically stop when you wake up.
