Tips and tricks for playing Star-Lord in Marvel Rivals
Star-Lord has a great, dynamic ability kit that enables him to effectively apply a lot of pressure and safe picks for his team – especially when his cooldowns are properly cycled and used to their full potential. Here are some top tips and tricks to help you get started learning Star-Lord, along with his biggest strengths and weaknesses against some enemies.:
- Star-Lord's shifts automatically reload his pistols. With this ability well-timed, you can empty your pistol at a target, blink to reload, empty another set of ammo, blink to reload, and repeat—until you drop a shift to help eliminate bad situations. By using this cooldown to put constant pressure on a target, Star-Lord should be able to get squishy targets with ease or use it to significantly lower tanks' HP, opening up opportunities to protect the rest of your team. Choose, or force them to back off a bit and leave some space.
- Star-Lord's rockets can be used to achieve vertical mobility (looking up) as well as horizontal movement.. This is especially useful for reaching high ground, or intercepting flying targets, especially as Star-Lord can boost, and then shoot the targets with his pistols as he falls down.
- Star-Lord can use his movement while his barrage is active, enabling him to cover more distance and hit more enemies with the spray.. If multiple targets at low HP are grouped close to each other, this can be a quick and effective way to take them out quickly, as Star-Lord will deal damage very quickly to low HP targets with this ability, and more to hit for multiple characters while in action. is difficult
- Star-Lord can use his shifts to dodge certain enemy abilities, which is especially useful against slow or stationary threats.. With proper timing of Star-Lord's Shift, players can also learn to bait critical abilities and cooldowns for opponents, leaving the target vulnerable to kills.
- Star-Lord's Ultimate essentially acts as an ambot once you've locked someone down. Using this ability when the enemy team is already under pressure and scrambling can be extremely effective, especially if they are in close proximity to each other as Star-Lord can boost, and lock onto each target.
- You should always be targeting squishy characters like enemy strategists, or some duelist characters.. This is relevant to both his normal weapon usage as well as his ultimate, where squishies should be the first target priority. As a squishy himself at 250 HP, Star-Lord is perfect for duels with others where he has the advantage. He thrives on supporting tanks but can struggle to take them down by himself – especially vanguards who can take up space against him and stop him from escaping with their movement abilities.
