In a recent showcase, the devs showed how hit stops and some weapons have been reworked.
Demon Hunter Wilds feature hit stops and weapon changes
In a video showcase featuring director Yuya Tokuda, Capcom revealed some of the changes implemented based on feedback from open beta testing. Speaking through a translator, Tokuda revealed that the team expected feedback about the Hit Stop and was already working to make it more popular.
In the accompanying video, they reveal the Greatsword's true charged slash with a reworked hit stop system (at 16:31). It is clear that the feature has been tuned up, and the slash looks very satisfying and weighty, even if it is against a bunch of barrels. The sound effects have also been tuned to make the attack more satisfying on the ground. These changes have been applied to all weapon types.
The video also features changes to some of the weapons. Capcom previously told us that the four weapons were going to get some big changes, and the video showcased reworks for the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, Lance, and Sword and Shield.
Insect Glaive mains will be happy to hear Vaulting Dance is back. A charge counter on the lance will allow you to charge while guarding. The Switch X will see incoming changes in sword mode and negate knockback during a full release slash. Finally, Sword & Shield will now allow you to use Rising Slash while guarding. All these are complemented by other minor changes as well.
Tokuda was also asked about the possibility of another beta test, and, while he didn't completely rule it out, he said that if there was going to be another, it would only be for those who missed the first one and didn't have these features. New changes.
